PART 2: ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING
Applying what you have learned in this course, how will you respond to the
following circumstances? Explain each item in paragraph form.
1: Dealing with your Employer/Manager.
2: Dealing with your co-employee or co-worker.
3: Considerations to take in making a decision as professional and as an individual.
1. When dealing with my Employer, I wouldn't treat them as normal as I
would friends or co-workers, I would be professional and treat them with respect
and listen to them. I would also show my capabilities especially such abilities that I
have told them that I have, as well as keep my words and work hard. I will show
my responsibility and accountability towards what I do and what the company
soughts. When I deal with my employer I shall go for an amicable relationship and
understanding.
2. With my co-workers I will welcome conversations, avoid
misunderstanding and fights with each other as well as help those who are having
trouble as well as cooperate and have teamwork with each other. Make them as
comfortable as possible and not harass them or tell them if they are doing
something that makes me uncomfortable, I would seek to go above the cultural
barriers and such so that we can reach an understanding and good relationship with
each other. Only by being able to communicate and cooperate with co-workers can
you achieve efficient teamwork, even making work much easier and a harmonous
working environment will surely help ease and motivate my co-workers and I.
3. As a professional I would make decisions that I can have the responsiblity to
holdas a professional I will make ethical decisions that are good for the
organization, I would brainstorm with others , then look at the options and see
what is the best solution or action there is to take, after that is look at the risks as
well of the action before the decision is made and if it can be done, or if it should
be done/if it is an ethical decision for environment and community and if it good
for the shareholders and stakeholders.
As an individual, I would make decisions that is ethical, I would not make
decisions that would benefit me but hurt others around me, I would not step on
others to benefit myself or anyone else. I would also ask myself the risks and
capability of myself and of others, I would look at its impact to the environment
and those in it and if it is for the good of many. Lastly, I would seek the help of
another that is capable or best for the job if I cannot do it and I would ask for
another's opinion if I am in doubt.
