MSU SOARING CLUB Welcome to the club! One of the first questions many potential members ask is, “How much does it cost?” Displayed below are many of the membership expenses for the MSU Soaring Club (MSUSC): 1. SSA’s FAST program. The SSA offers a discounted program to encourage participation in the sport of soaring. The program, called FAST (Fly a Sailplane Today) provides the following: A voucher for an introductory lesson with an FAA certified glider flight instructor, consisting of a minimum of 30 minutes of ground instruction and approximately 30 minutes of flight time. Your voucher does not have to be applied to your first flight with the MSUSC. You may pay now and use your voucher for a later flight. A copy of Everybody’s 1st Gliding Book. A glider pilot logbook. An introductory 3-month membership in the Soaring Society of America (SSA), including one copy of the monthly magazine Soaring. For more information, go to www.ssa.org/FAST.
