and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem. This study used Quantitative approach
which is Descriptive–Comparative method, this was used to described the characteristic
of the population or phenomenon that is being studied and to examine, compare and
contrast subject and ideas. This study wants to know more about the tourist destination
and to promote tourist attractions in the province. This study used Qualitative approach

Respondents and Sampling Method
In choosing the respondents of the research, the researcher considered grade 12 students
Saint Mary’s University Senior high school. The researcher used Rao soft calculator to determine
the number of respondents. Thus, with a total of 100 respondents are selected. Random sampling
will be used to identify the respondents of the study.
Research Instrument
A survey-type questionnaire was adapted in the study of MacCanell (2004) as the datagathering instrument. The questionnaire contains two parts which is qualitative and quantitative.
SMUSHS Journal of Multi-Disciplinary Research, December, 2019
Qualitative was used to know the extent of their knowledge about the important of elements of a
tourist attractions. Quantitative designed was used to determine the range on how important the
elements of tourist attractions to them.
It is a form of interview checklist consisting of three (3) sections covering
(A) PERSONAL INFORMATION
(B) LEVEL OF IMPORTANCE
(C) OPEN-ENDED QUESTION
Data Gathering Procedure
Presenting the formal letter to a subject teacher and
to the coordination.
Distribution of the survey questionnaires to the
Senior high school students.
Collecting the questionnaires to the Senior high school
students.
And lastly, we are tallying and analyzing that we gathered.
Figure 4. Data Gathering Flowchart
The researcher made a formal letter to be presented to the subject teacher and coordinator
for approval of the questionnaire. After the approval, the researcher distributed the questionnaire
to the senior high school student. After answering the questionnaire, the researcher collected all
the questionnaire that has been distributed, then after that tally their answers and analyze it.
Data Analyses
The researcher will use the following statistical techniques and methods in analyzing the data
gathered:
1. Frequency and distribution will be used to describe the respondents’ profile.
2. The researcher will use the mean and standard deviation for describing the elements of
tourist attractions.
3. T-test for independent samples and ANOVA was used to identify the significant difference
of the different elements of tourist attractions when grouped according to profile.
In describing the perception of the respondents as regards to the importance of elements of tourist
attractions, the researchers will use thematic analysis.

As shown in the table, majority of the respondents said that the most important
element is the mean of attraction (f=3.3167; 1.16088%). Thus, the most important element of the
respondents is the attraction.

There is a significant difference between the level of satisfaction of senior high school in
the elements of tourist destination that are being considered by senior high school students when
grouped according to the profile of respondents. Thus, this study shows that the respondents
considered the attraction, accommodation, safety, activities and food of a tourist attraction. Thus,
the above analysis rejects the null hypothesis (H0) that tourist are satisfied with the tourism
products and market of Uttaranchal and accepts alternate hypothesis (H1). Further it rejects the
null hypothesis (H0) that there is a no gap between the tourist expected services and perceived
services in Uttaranchal tourism and accepts alternate hypothesis (H1). The analysis also leads to
rejects null hypothesis (H0) that rural area of the Uttaranchal tourism has been developed and
accepts the alternate hypothesis (H1).
