I remember once when we had to write personal Declarations of Independence back in high school. The topic I chose to base my Declaration upon was pop music, a genre that is currently still trending in the twentyfirst century with no sign of its influence slowing down. I mainly used opinion to describe why I thought pop, particularly romantic pop in the context of my work, is something that should receive less attention than it does, even now. I went into detail on how there are many pop songs out there nowadays that go into a frustrating level of sexual detail, at least for me (think of the children). It’s nowhere near as explicit as rap, but the point is, I mainly used the pathos of how I felt in this regard, mentioning issues such as the complete lack of other genres of music liked by other people (much to their disappointment) due to the mighty influence of giants in the music industry such as Maroon 5 expanding their influence everywhere they can in our society musically. Not only that, but I brought up the issue that tons more artists beyond the scope of America currently, regardless of genre, could make a nice profit from having their songs played on the radio, but due to the way things are now, it seems highly unlikely.
