Study Plan for Master Studies in China
Nowadays the advancement in technology has reached to the point where every device works
intelligently and has the ability to communicate with each other. This advancement in technology is
due to the contribution of researchers in development and modification of electrical communication
systems for scientific, commercial, industrial and military use. Inspired from their innovations, I also
want to contribute towards research achievements in the field of telecommunication engineering. The
XI’AN JIAOTONG UNIVERSITY (XJTU) has great achievements and contributions in telecommunication
engineering due to its strong academic strength. XJTU has high profile faculty and all advance
equipment required for a best research achievement, drives me towards pursuing my master in
information and communication engineering from XJTU.
From Beginning of my academic career, Science is my interest because of my curiosity to know about
operations and Applications of different things. Its science that gives me logical answers to my
questions related to nature. My interest in science led me to obtain my bachelor’s degree in
Telecommunication Engineering with a CGPA of 3.05 out of 4 recently, from University of Engineering
and Technology (U.E.T) Peshawar, Pakistan. The bachelor’s academic syllabus content of my university
has broadened my knowledge in core areas of telecommunication. In start of my bachelors, I was
awarded with Freeship merit scholarship for 1 year by securing highest aggregate marks (1st position)
in telecommunication department in University entry test in 2011. A laptop as a reward was also
presented to me by government for securing more than 75 % marks in undergraduate program. These
awards show my excellence in academic field. Apart from academics, I also contributed in extracurricular activities and worked for 2 years as vice president and president in Student Society U.E.T
Mardan(SSUM) which is the official student society of my university for organizing and managing
academic programs( short courses, Seminars, Speed Programming competitions etc.) as well as all
other extra-curricular activities ( Sports events , welcome parties and fun fairs etc.).
The advanced world we see today would not have been possible without the great contribution of
eminent researchers. Although they have several significant contributions, still there is a lot of scope
for potential researchers in every field. With the passion to contribute in research area of
telecommunication, during Bachelors I have worked on increasing the efficiency and lifetime of
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). This work was the continuation of my undergraduate Final Year
Project (FYP) on which I have worked with my two (2) project mates and we worked hard as team and
published a journal paper titled as “SCH Protocol for Wireless Microsensors Network” in Higher
Education Commission (HEC) recognized international journal BUJICT (Bahria University Journal of
Information and Communication Technologies).
After my graduation, for work experience I joined Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited
(PTCL) as Trainee Engineer for six (6) Weeks which provides telephonic and internet services
nationwide. In PTCL I acquired skills in switching operations and NGN (Next Generation Network) and
their power backups. In PTCL, I was also introduced with all type of telecommunication systems
including old telephone systems (POTS) and advanced optical fiber based systems and learnt about
their basic operations. Then I joined Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited(SNGPL) for six(6) Weeks as
Trainee Engineer which is public limited company and their I worked on SCADA systems.
Study Plan in China:
I want to apply for Master’s in Information and Communication engineering in XJTU to continue my
exploration and understanding about current technologies in the field of telecommunication
engineering and also planning to contribute towards research achievements in the field of
Telecommunication Engineering. I am personally interested and want to work in research areas such
as Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN), Antenna Design and Applications, Wireless Networks, Signal
Processing, Digital communication, Electromagnetics , Embedded systems, Adaptive control systems
and Smart Grid. After graduation I want to continue my work in industrial and scientific research .I
also want to contribute in culture exchanges between the people of china and my own country
Pakistan.
Reason for Study in china:
For me the china is like my second homeland because of its long lasting relationship with Pakistan. The
hardworking nature of people of china and its rapid advancement in technology raised my interest to
obtain my higher studies from China’s higher ranked universities to improve my skills and to promote
the culture exchange among the people of both countries.
I firmly believe that the experience faculty, best research environment and advance
telecommunication equipment of XJTU will improve my skills, ideas and analytical ability. I look
forward for an opportunity to show my potential and would be grateful if I get the opportunity to
study at your university with financial assistance.
