COUNTER – AFFIDAVIT
I, BERTO RANTADO, of legal age, Filipino, and a resident of #61
Dikammo Nuayanna Street, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, after having been
duly sworn in accordance with law, hereby depose and state THAT:
1. I am the same person who is the respondent in the instant case;
2. I am executing this affidavit to vehemently deny all the
accusations of JUMANJANI NGANAALA-RANTADO in her
complaint. Complainant is deliberately misleading this Honorable
Office as there was no proof of said allegations;
3. There is no truth to the complainant’s allegation that I had shown
unexpected, irrational behavior and that I never became an
irresponsible husband and a father to our children;
4. As regards to paragraph 6, it is true that I got promoted last
January 2018 and was mandated to transfer to our main office in
Makati City, that I used to go home quarterly in our province to
visit and spend a week with my family;
5. Paragraph 7 is DENIED. The truth is, I have tried going home once
every 2 months during the pandemic because I wanted to spend
a time with my family despite having a surge of the pandemic in
our country. I have also suffered financial crisis due to the
expensive cost of living in Metro Manila, I have to buy essentials,
pay my bills and even the rent for the condominium that I have
bought;
6. Paragraph 8 is DENIED. I never forgot and neglected my
responsibilities to my family especially to my children and that up
until now, I still send money from time to time;
7. As regards to paragraph 9, the truth about that day is that the
complainant travelled from our province to our office in Makati
only to show up in my office and make a scene. That my boss
even went between us and that was when we have agreed to draft
a Memorandum of Agreement demanding me to give them more
of what I was giving;
8. Paragraph 10 is DENIED. The truth of the matter is that, I have
failed to give only a month of my financial responsibility to my
family as stated in our Memorandum of Agreement for the reason
that I paid my loan because I bought a lot near our house in our
Province;
9. Paragraph 11 is highly unfair on my part for there are no truth
behind all the accusations she’s throwing at me;

Paragraph 12 is DENIED. I have never threatened to cause
the complainant and our children physical harm, I merely asked
the complainant to stop what she’s doing because it might affect
my relationship with my children;

Paragraph 13 is DENIED. The truth is, after the unending
fights and unending misunderstanding with my wife, Shubitka
Talaga came to my rescue and we both were just being friendly
towards each other. She is like a best friend to me because she
listens to my problems and sometimes help me cope up with my
financial problems;

Paragraph 14, 15, and 16 is DENIED. There is no truth in all
the complainant’s allegations. I have never abandoned my family
and have any intention to do such thing, in fact after being
employed, I always do my best to give support to my children;

It should be noted by the Honorable Office that all the
allegations in the compliant are without any supporting evidences,
making it self-serving;

By the reason stated above the complaint against herein
respondent should be dismissed. The undersigned thus prays that
the instant case be dismissed.
