The children should not be blamed for their situation. 2. The poem has a sad tone. It portrays the sufferings of the children. 3. The poet addresses poverty. She is trying to criticize the society on its lack of providing for the children. 4. Poverty is still one of the biggest problems in the world, especially in our country. The government should provide more to the poor. The children suffer because of poverty. They are the hope of the future so their education must be a priority. Many cannot afford to study, so the government must focus on this.
