Installation & Operation
This supplement documents the installation, configuration, and
adjustment procedures for the DPP2000 Restacker. This
supplement should be used with and inserted into your DPP2000
Operator’s Manual. This supplement may be kept current by
Change Notices and Revisions.

DPP2000 Restacker
1.1 INSTALLATION
Refer to Figure 1 when performing these procedures.
NOTE
®
Use LOCTITE 222 Threadlocker on all screws unless otherwise noted.
1.
Remove electrical power and air pressure from the DPP2000 system.
2.
Lift the lid to its upright position.
3.
Note A, B, C, D slot identification on the right hand mounting lug (24595).
Hold the mounting lug upright so the slots are facing to the left and the end with the spring pin is facing
down.
On the DPP2000, position the right hand mounting lug against the base plate and against the back plate,
just to the left of the manifold assembly.
Place the spring pin into the through hole in the base plate.
Attach the lug to the back plate using an M5-0.80 x 20 mm socket head cap screw (from kit).
4.
Hold the left hand mounting lug (24604) upright so the slots are facing to the right and the end with the
spring pin is facing down.
On the DPP2000, position the left hand mounting lug against the base plate and against the back plate,
approximately 6 inches left of the right hand mounting lug.
Place the spring pin into the through hole in the base plate.
Attach the lug to the back plate using an M5-0.80 x 20 mm socket head cap screw (from kit).

Remove the two 10-32 x 1/8 in. set screws (11281) that are in the base plate between the two previously
installed mounting lugs.
Thread the two quick disconnect sockets (24602) with fiber gaskets (20733) into these holes so that the
black one is in the left hole and the plain one is in the right hole.
6.
Turn on the air supply and verify there are no leaks around the disconnect sockets.
Power may be applied at this time.
7.
Plug the tubing assemblies (24609) from the air cylinder on the tray assembly (24608), into the quick
disconnect sockets (24602) as follows:

the tubing assembly closest to the cylinder mount plugs into the left quick disconnect fitting (color
coded with a black band).

the tubing assembly farthest from the cylinder mount plugs into the right quick disconnect fitting (no
band).
Slide the restacker tray assembly (24608) into the appropriate pair of slots based on the height of the tag to
be marked. Insert the magazine assembly (24610) into the tray. The tab of the magazine fits into the notch
just to the right of the air cylinder on the tray. Two pins in the magazine will drop into the pin alignment
holes in the tray.

2.1 OPERATION
Operation of the DPP2000 Restacker requires adjustments to the restacker width and height, programming the
system software for proper drop off into the restacker, and resetting the restacker when the printed data plates are
removed.
NOTE
The height of the tray can be adjusted for different sizes of tags without removing the
air lines from the quick disconnects. The quick disconnects have integral shut offs and
can be disconnected without turning off system air pressure. This allows you to run the
DPP2000 without using the restacker.
2.1.1 Restacker Width (Gate) Adjustment

Loosen the large fluted knob.
2.
Slide the adjustable fence left or right until the tag to be stacked is a snug fit in the middle of the tray without
compressing the springs on the fixed (left) side of the magazine.
2.1.2 Restacker Height Adjustment
Allowable minimum/maximum height of the tags are listed for each of the four slots (see below).
For proper restacker operation, two sets of adjustments are given. The first is for tags up to 4.5 inches (114 mm)
wide. The second is for tags from 4.5 to 5.0 inches (114 to 127 mm) wide. Refer to Figure 2 and Figure 3 for
assistance in determining the proper slot position.
NOTE
The slot positions are marked on the right hand lug.
Slot “A” is the top position. Slot “D” is the bottom.

A Restacker Height Adjustment Gauge (4x5 in. plate) is provided with your Restacker. Additionally, the pattern
used to print the gauge has been installed on your system so that additional gauges may be printed on a 4x5 in.
data plate at any time.

Figure 2 is a scaled drawing of the restacker slot indicator gauge pattern (P/N 25480).

Examples of using the gauge to determine the proper slot configuration are shown in Figure 3. Align your tag
with the upper left corner of the gauge. If your tag is less than 4.5 in. (114 mm) wide, use the slot indicator
shown below the tag near the center of the gauge. If it is wider than 4.5 in. (114 )mm., use the slot indicator
shown below the tag near the right side of the gauge.

2.1.3 Programming the Drop-Off Location
The data plate drop-off location is programmable from the Supervisor mode. A drop-off location may be defined
for, and saved with, each pattern. The default drop-off location is acceptable for the majority of data plate sizes.
However, it is highly recommended that you define a specific drop-off location for smaller data plates. Data
plates smaller than 2.5 in. (63 mm) high may drop too far when released and may lose their positioning in the
restacker.
NOTE
The Restacker Option must be enabled to access the Drop-Off Location parameter.
To adjust the drop-off location:
1.
Enter the Supervisor mode.
2.
From the Supervisor main screen, press FUNCTION 3 (LOAD) and load the desired pattern.
3.
Press FUNCTION 6 (DESIGN) to access the pattern design features.
4.
Press FUNCTION 6 (DEFINE) to access the pattern definition parameters.
5.
Press the NEXT key to access the Drop-Off parameter.
The default X/Y coordinates will be displayed.
6.
Change the Y-Drop Off location to 0.1.
This will allow the smaller plates to be dropped more accurately (closer to the restacker).
7.
Press FUNCTION 1 (ACCEPT) to exit the Define screen.
8.
Press FUNCTION 2 (SAVE), then press FUNCTION 1 (ACCEPT) to save the new drop-off location.
The new drop-off location will be stored for that pattern.
9.
Press the ESC key to return to the Supervisor main screen.
10. Repeat this process for other patterns, as required.
2.1.4 Resetting the Restacker
NOTE
Stack retainers must be returned to their forward positions after the output
magazine is emptied and before marking is started or resumed.
1.
Slide the two stack retainers forward (toward the air cylinder of the restacker tray).
2.
As data plates are printed and restacked, the stack retainers will be pushed along, ahead of the stack of data
plates.
3.
When the printed data plates are removed from the restacker, the stack retainers must be re-positioned to
their forward positions.
