Speech Waiver

I am Fiza of class 11 from Kamal Model Sr. Sec. School and for today’s event I would
like to talk about the topic how public speaking increases confidence in students.
To start off with a quote from Michelle Obama that your success will be determined by
your own confidence and fortitude. Public speaking is the way to communicate the
personal point of view and self expression with the known or unknown small and large
groups online, workplace, conferences, workshops, seminars, and webinars to achieve
speaking goals, influence the Audi and make an impact.
When a Student asks a question to the teacher in class, is the beginning of public
speaking skills. Public speaking is a great way of personal development; it improves
student’s communication skills and is helpful in building confidence at an early age.
Most of the children at the early age feel fear and are nervous when they are asked to
communicate in front of a bunch of people or to present a speech.
Generally, it is quite common in almost 85% of students, it is proven in various studies
not only children in their student’s life face this issue but when they grow up to adults
they lack the skills of public speaking and remain hesitant and nervous in such
situations. Lack of confidence is the major cause of not being able to present your
thoughts publicly. Once you start practising the art of public speaking at an early age it
will gradually boost your confidence that you can as well put your thoughts in front of
people and you have better insights to present. Me myself had low self esteem at my
younger ages and I rarely took part in public speaking because of the fear that I had that
what if something goes wrong or what if I embarrass myself in front of everyone. My
teachers used to ask my to take part in events but I was habituated to back down with
some excuses. After some time I realised that if I wouldn’t try it or overcome my fear
then how can I have negative thoughts about public speaking. So I tried asking
questions in class at first and then small events and all of these helped in boosting my
confidence and self esteem. I still get nervous which is pretty normal before any
performance but when I start speaking my anxiety vanishes. In my opinion public
speaking hears helped me a lot in my fluency with words and with my confidence level.
So If you afraid to speak publicly, take a risk , if it goes well you will be happy, if it
doesn’t then you will be wise. Thank you
