SEE: TYPES OF SHOT
• Body- The fire was stronger than Harry’s
spell. Ron fell on the floor.
Birds eye – to show that Malfoy is in danger.
• Long/ eye level – Harry, Ron and Hermione
escaping on their broomsticks. It makes the
audience believe they are actually flying.
SEE: CAMERA ANGLE
• High – Malfoy’s friend fails to escape and
falls into the fire. The fire in powerful, the
boy looks smaller as he falls into it.
• Low – to show that Malfoy is powerless/in
danger
SEE: MISE EN SCENE
• Requirement Room - cluttered
• Props – brooms, chair, books
• To enable the fire burn and smash things
intensifying the feeling of danger
HEAR: SOUNDS
• Diegetic – heavy breathing and loud voices
• Non-diegetic – music added, sound of fire
burning and smashing
• To create a feeling of tension and danger
FEEL: HOW DOES THE SCENE MAKE THE
VIEWER FEEL?
Tense
Anxious to know if they are going to make it
out
Dilemma: should they go back to save Malfoy?
WHY?
• To make the audience feel the
tension/danger as if they were in the scene
with the characters trying to escape.
• Moral dilemma: should they save someone
who is their enemy?
