1- Soak wheatgrass seed in pure water about three times the seeds’ volume for 8-12 hours. (28th Nov.) 2- Drain the water and rinse wheatgrass in a colander twice for 7 days. (29th Nov-5th Dec.). 3-Rinse at least twice a day until sprouts begin to form. They will be about 1/4-1/2″ long and fill a seedling tray with 1”-2” of soil- (5th Dec.): ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ ✓ Add half a teaspoon of salt (approx. 2.5ml) to container 1, Omar Yousry Add 1 teaspoons of salt (approx. 5ml) to container 2, Yassin Waleed Add 2 teaspoons of salt (approx. 10ml) to container 3, Youssef Ashraf Add 1 1teaspoons of Himalaya salt (approx. 5ml) to container 4 Youssef Amr Spread salt out evenly in container, spread the seeds thickly and evenly on top of the soil, taking care to leave some space between the seeds. 4-Water the seeds and cover the seeds with 4 layers of paper towel or newspaper that have been soaked with cold water. 5-Locate your newly planted wheatgrass in a dark, warm place. 6-Check seedlings daily and moisten paper towels or newspaper if necessary. Then make sure the paper doesn’t dry out at all. 7- (7th Dec.) Remove the cover when seedlings reach above the tray 1-2”, keep watering the seedlings about once a day and relocate the container to a sunny place. The sunlight will help your sprouts develop more chlorophyll as well as keep them short and sturdy. Remember to keep the soil moist. 8- Start to measure the followings. 1. The length of the plant’s stem (every 2 weeks) 18th Dec -1st Jan - 15th Jan. 2. The size of the plant leaf (every 2 weeks) 3. The colour of the leaves. Notes: 1-Approximately 14 to 20 days, your sprouts will wither. 2-The wheatgrass reaches 6”-9” tall -usually between 5 and 10days. (18th Dec). cut it with clean scissors just above the soil to allow it to grow again because where it grows again in about 6 to 7 days with daily irrigation as before. 3-Wheatgrass can be grown all seasons of the year.
