22nd January 2018 From: Mr/Mrs __________________ [(subject) Teacher | (school) | (address)] Dear my wonderful form class, My name is Mr/Mrs _______________ and this fine young year I will be your teacher. I hope all of you are excited as I am for the year ahead. While some of you may know me from last year, many of you younger ones may not have had the chance to be taught by me yet, in which case, hello! If this is your first time in this particular form class then I know you will enjoy yourself due to the personalities and happy environment we have here. It’s a blessing to have you join us as well! I chose teaching because I believe the talents and skills I was blessed with fit the criteria of what makes a good teacher, including a fun and enthusiastic personality, maturity and kindness, as well as empathy and passion for my students and for this role. I love pretty much all sports, and my favourite is association football (football/futbol/soccer). I also like every style of music, so if you know of a style that you don't think I may have encountered, I challenge you to ask me. I was born in Australia but I have also lived in Papua New Guinea and Fiji. My heritage is Papua New Guinean (Kalo and Keapara) and Rotuman (an island of Fiji. One of my favourite Bible verses is Galatians 3:28 (ESV), which reads "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus". No matter who you are or where you're from, we are all equal under Jesus Christ, and I hope that while you and I will share a teacher-student relationship while you attend the school, I will treat you all with the same equality. Good luck this year, and know that if you need any help transitioning into high school or with your English or Biology assignments, I will be here for you. Sincerely, Mr/Mrs _____________ (subject) Teacher
