Many master geomancers consider only the combination
of the Water and Mountain stars. It is also good to
consider the basic 20-year number for each sector. The
effect of the yearly and monthly stars on the Flying Star
chart should be considered as well, especially the effect
of the sickness stars (5 and 2)

Use moving water to activate the 8 water star for
wealth. This usually brings unexpected income
within the 9-day cycle of the daily stars.
Use crystals to activate the 8 mountain star, which
is very potent for relationship luck.

Changing to Period 8
•

Period 8 started on February 4th 2004.
The main problem is the extreme change in the character of the
number 7.
In period 7 there are many combinations of water and mountain
stars that contain the number 7
In period 7 these may be auspicious, especially the double 7 in
the front door
In period 8 they become very, very nasty indeed
All period 7 buildings are afflicted with at least one 7 in the
front door except SW2/3, S2/3, N1 and NE1, and these all have
double 7s at the back. So in effect every single period 7 building
has danger of violence in the period of 8.
A building gets its period number when it is constructed and
when subsequent major renovations take place involving
changes to the roof and the front door, or when you move in.
This means that the vast majority of buildings are period 7
buildings.
The large amount of metal used in construction these days
increases the likelihood of activating the pernicious effects of
the 7 and making the effect worse than the corresponding
changeover in 1824.
As the period of 7 ended we started to see the effects.

Updating your Building to Period 8

Change the roof, change the floor and change the front door.
In an apartment, paint the ceiling, change the carpet or flooring
and change the front door.
Remove 3 square metres of the roof for 9 days, preferably over
the main door.
If you have one or more skylights, the update is automatic.
Likewise, if you have an enclosed courtyard or atrium that is
open to the sky at the top, your building was automatically
updated at the beginning of the period of 8.
Get a new front door (solid wood is best) or renovate the existing
one.
Renovate and redecorate the building to make it ‘feel like new’.
Clean out and completely air all storerooms and garages.
Give away everything you have not used for more than two
years.
Tell your friends to do the same!

This really is deadly.
If it occurs in the sector that contains your front door it is really pernicious.
Usually, you must hang a six-rod wind chime to overcome the heavy negative earth influence
that it brings.
It can cause sickness and all kinds of mishaps.

Note that in 2004 some houses that enjoyed a lot of luck in the 20-year long period of 7
suddenly became very unlucky. You should check whether or not it is now advisable to
change the front door direction and do some renovations.

awkwardly shaped buildings.
You can try using both
methods to determine the

buildings

In general, it is very difficult to do Flying Star analysis
on individual apartments or any building when the
front door or most Yang direction is unclear. It
becomes very ‘hit and miss’. If you are confused then
the Chi is confused.
You can experiment with the 8 water star, by placing a
small fountain in the area where you think it may be
and then seeing if you receive unexpected income
within the 9-day daily cycle of the stars. If you do, it
reveals the entire Lo Shu square orientation for Flying
Star analysis. You may have to try a number of
different locations before you find it.
Remember that water features must flow towards the
centre, representing wealth coming in. The water can
be recycled from the bottom of the fountain, but the
overall direction must be inwards, not outwards .
