HOW TO PRACTICE THE LOTUS POSE
BENEFITS OF
SUKHASANA
The name sukhasana comes from the Sanskrit words sukha meaning
"pleasure" and asana meaning "posture" or "seat".
MEDITATION POSITION
HOW TO SIT
CORRECTLY IN
SUKHASANA
This pose is best-suited for meditation for
both beginners and advanced practitioners.
Sukhasana comes from the Sanskrit word
Sukha that means easy, pleasure, comfort,
and pleasure. People of all ages can do this
asana. This meditation pose is also similar to
sitting cross-legged. For meditation, it is
important that the spine be straight and
aligned with the head and neck. But if the
practitioner steadies the sukhasana pose by
putting pillows or blankets under the knees
to create a steadiness, it may be easier to sit
longer in sukhasana for meditation without
slumping forward. An additional blanket or
pillow under the buttocks may also be
beneficial and steadying.
“Touch your inner space,
which is nothingness,
as silent and empty as the sky,
it is your inner sky.
Once you settle down in your inner sky, you have
come home,
and a great maturity arises in your actions, in
your behavior.
Then whatever you do has grace in it.
Then whatever you do is a poetry in itself. You
live poetry,
your walking becomes a dance,
your silence becomes music.”
~Osho
