The region was under political unrest in 2019
and the COVID-19 pandemic arrived early in
2020. These two external factors have brought
great challenges to the Hong Kong economy,
especially in terms of the retail, tourism and
hospitality sectors. Revenue and sales have been
struggling in these sectors since mid 2019.
Meanwhile, both healthcare and IT sectors have
been growing. The former thrives due to the
pandemic, while the later flourishes for
work-from-home and social-distancing policies.
Internet usage has grown higher than before,
causing demands for computer support, data
analysis and IT management specialists.
Shortage of Technology Talents
Hong Kong has done a great job controlling the
COVID-19 cases. There have been neither
complete lockdown nor any restrictions for
hiring foreign workforce.
e-commerce companies are entering the Hong
Kong market, creating demand for e-commerce
specialists there.
IT and Digital Services Become A Focus
Information technology and digital services will
be under the Hong Kong economic spotlight in
2021. Further, remote working could become
the new normal there, because companies are
familiar with the new working method during
the pandemic. This working pattern change may
cut some business needs for office space. This in
turn will add to property rental prices being
impacted in Hong Kong with less demand for
office space so a reduction in rental costs may
follow on.
External factors are affecting the retail sector in
Hong Kong dramatically and this might not be
able to fully recover in 2021. However, hopefully
we will welcome a new beginning along with the
whole new year coming.
Due to the shortage of technology talents in the
region, companies look for international talent in
the technology sector, including IT support
engineers, IT infrastructure engineers and digital
transformation specialists. More, more and more

Under the impact of the epidemic in Hong Kong,
overall accounting business has been dealt a
blow. Many employers have indicated that since
February, the business rate has dropped by
nearly 30% or more. In terms of socio-economic
instability, a large number of job seekers have
emerged in the market. During the peak period,
more than 200 job applications were received in
one day, which is more competitive than before.
Though benefits package may not as good as in
previous years, still many employees choose to
stay with current companies.
Overview of Market back in 2020

The biggest challenge faced by employers this
year comes from the great impact on their core
business. Nearly 70% of their customers said that
because of the epidemic, which had led to a
deterioration in the market economy and affected
the company's working capital and liquidity. In
addition, in the face of all social instability, many
enterprises have adopted layoffs to reduce
expenses. Some of them even the whole department
was unfortunately dismissed, and the employer will
employ 1 or 2 people to replace the whole department.
As for job seekers, the competition for jobs this year
is fiercer than in previous years. In view of the limited
market demand, employers are more rigorous and
prudent in recruitment, resulting in a relatively
long recruitment period. Job seekers must have
100% outstanding performance in all aspects in
order to meet the requirements of employers.
Compared with the past, employers mainly
emphasis candidates’ mentality and work experience,
but now many employers attach great
importance to the relevant work experience of
candidates. In addition, employers also expect
candidates to be enthusiastic about their work,
be flexible and avoid complaining too much about
their workload. Of course, candidates should also
be psychologically prepared to cope with a
variety of jobs scope.
Many candidates tend to think that it is very
important to secure a permanent job at this
stage. Even some candidates having multiple
language skills, they have not been able to get a
job for half a year. There are still some job
seekers who are still willing to accept jobs in the
face of a salary cut of 30%-40%. As far as salary
is concerned, the market economy has taken a
turn for the worse. Some companies have not had
a pay rise since 2019. With the current trend of
salary growth, it will be more conservative than
in the past. For a salary increase of 2021, it is
only 3% at most.
Remuneration trend in 2021
Many job seekers are still struggling about
switching jobs. In the past, when the market was
favorable, the salary of changing jobs was
generally increased by about 15% to 20%. But in

2021, salary growth has been lower than in
previous years, with an increase of only about
5%. In the face of uncertain future market
development, if job seekers need to change their
working environment, salary increase may not be
a long-term consideration.
New trend of industry
In the past few years, many enterprises and
companies have begun to invest in the API
platform, which provides information on banking
services such as deposits and loans, so as to
reduce manpower through reducing labour
services. On the other hand, some larger
corporations tend to employ senior level
candidates who have management experience,
and the salaries of senior role remain high, but
their job requirements are relatively more
stringent than before. Enterprises are eager for
them not only to provide strategic advice, but also
to handle some basic tasks of day-to-day
operations. A group of smaller companies will
hire a financial manager to handle the entire
department. Some employers even employ
part-time staff to assist the financial director and
financial management.
In the past, the position of financial analyst was
more popular, mainly dealing with different
financial analysis. However, since the beginning
of the past six months, there has been a lack of
sufficient data for analysis under the influence of
the market economy, and the demand of financial
analysts has also been affected. In contrast, the
impact of financial audit sector is relatively low.
Electronation will become a future trend | HK
market will be transferred to the mainland
Basic business such as data entry will be
electronic and easier to deal with in the future. So
as to reduce the demand of junior employees. It is
suggested that job seekers should apply for a
financial professional license or accountant's
license, and they also need to take some
digital-related courses to add value to
themselves, which will be easier to secure a job in
large-scale accounting companies in the future.
Under the influence of the social situation, many
Chinese enterprises have withdrawn their Hong
Kong headquarters and transferred their
business to mainland for development. Hong
Kong's long-standing position has been affected.
In addition, to strengthen electronic management,
some large-scale enterprises have transferred
their daily routine works to Southeast Asian
markets where production costs are relatively
low. Funding will be more centralized on the
recruitment of senior roles in Hong Kong.

有不少僱主表示,由二月起,生意率跌近三成或
以上。就社會經濟不穩定性,市場上湧現一大群
求職者。高峰期曾於一日內收取超過200份求職
申請,競爭性比從前大。而福利及待遇則不如往
年,但仍有不少人士選擇在現職公司繼續留任。
求職競爭比往年激烈 僱主要求亦相對增加
本年度僱主面對最大的挑戰源自於核心業務大受
影響,近七成客戶表示疫情突襲,導致市場經濟
轉差,影響公司營運資金及流動性。加上面對社
會一切的不穩定性,不少企業都採取裁員以減省
開支。 當中,有整個部門不幸地被解僱,僱主將
聘請一至兩人替代整個部門工作。而求職者方
面,本年的求職競爭比往年激烈。就市場需求有
限,僱主在招聘方面較為嚴謹審慎,導致整個招
聘期變得相對地漫長。求職者必須在各方面有百
分之一百突出表現,才符合僱主要求。相比往
時,僱主主要觀察求職者的求職心態及工作經驗
為主; 但現在,不少僱主對求職者的工作經驗則極
其重視。另外,僱主亦期望求職者能抱有對工作
的熱誠,能處事上靈活變通,避免過多對工作的
抱怨。當然,求職者還要有心理準備應付多樣化
的工作。

市場上不少求職者傾向認為現階段獲取一份工作至
關重要,有個別求職者即使擁有多種的語言能力,
但花費半年時間,仍未取得工作。亦仍然有部分求
職者,面對薪金被減四至五千元,仍然樂意接受工
作。至於薪酬方面,就着市場經濟轉差。有部份企
業已經在2019年開始已經沒有加薪。隨着現今的
薪酬增長趨勢,會比過往更加保守。對於2021的
薪酬增長,也最多只有3%。
工作薪酬有稍微增幅 可選擇轉換環境
有不少求職者仍然對轉換工作感到困惑。在過往
市場優裕時,轉換工作一般可獲約15至20%薪酬
增幅。但在本年度(2021) ,薪酬增幅相對往年減
少,約只有5%增幅。在面對未來市場發展不明
朗,求職者如有需轉換工作環境,薪酬增幅未必
是一個只要的考慮因素。
行業新趨勢
過往不少企業公司在這幾年間開始投資API平台,
平台提供存款及貸款等銀行服務資料,透過電子
化,減少人工服務,以減省人手。而一些較有規模
的公司,則傾向聘請高級(管理)人員,對於高級(管
理)職員的薪酬仍然保持高企,但相對地他們的工
作要求亦比從前嚴謹,企業不但渴望他們能給予策
略性的建議亦同時能處理一些日常營運的基本工
作。而一批規模較小的公司,則會聘請一位財政管
理人員來處理整個部門。更有部分僱主會聘請兼職
人員來協助財政總監及財政管理的工作。

過去的職場上,財務分析師職位比較吃香,主要
處理不同的財務分析。但在近半年開始,市場經
濟影響下缺充分數據作分析,財務分析師的需求
亦同樣受影響。相對之下,金融審計的工作相對
影響較低。
電子化將成為未來趨勢 | 香港市場轉移內地發展
數據輸入等基本業務將成電子化,往後更輕鬆處
理。從而減少初級員工的需求。建議各個求職者
應投考財務專業牌照或會計師牌亦需要修讀一些
數碼性相關的課程增值自己,未來會更容易融入
一些大規模的會計公司。
受社會局勢影響,不少中資企業將本港總公司撤
出香港,業務轉移內地發展。香港一向穩固的地
位受影響。除此之外,一些大規模企業公司的業
務除加強電子化管理,將日常執行工作轉移至生
產成本相對低的東南亞市場。將資金集中運用在
本港招聘高級職位上。

In 2020, under the influence of COVID-19
epidemic, job vacancies in banking and finance
sector has decreased. Employers are more
conservative in recruitment and the entire
recruitment process requires multiple approvals
to allow vacancies to be filled or additional
headcounts. In the recruitment process of most
banks, a number of background checks are
conducted on job seekers, especially their
criminal record and financial status, resulting in
an extension of the overall recruitment period.
There are also some banks and enterprises that
shelve or freeze recruitment because of the
uncertainty of the development trend. On the
other hand, With the advent of virtual banks
continuing to rise, attracting many IT professionals
to join it. However, many job seekers still prefer
working at traditional banks and banks regulated
by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Because the
services of these banks are more comprehensive, job
seekers have the confidence to develop their
career steadily in the industry.

As far as job seekers are concerned, as a result of
the earlier wave of layoffs, some job seekers have
a job gap. During the job interview, they may
need to explain and show how they can equip
themselves during the job gap. In addition, there
is also a group of job seekers who intend to join
the industry from other industries, such as
aviation and retail industry. They are all willing to
join the banking department as frontline staff,
customer service and other positions. However,
most employers think that this group of job
seekers lack relevant experience, and because of
the tighten salary budget, employers are looking
forward to hiring job seekers with relevant work
experience. To some employers, although the
scope of work is quite different, still they welcome
inexperienced job seekers to join the industry,
they may be relatively conservative in terms of
pay.
In view of the uncertainty, employers have driven
up the hiring requirements, they place more
importance on relevant experience of job seekers.
On the other hand, numbers of job seekers are
open to accept contract role in order to get a
stable job and gain experience. Job seekers who
intend to change careers must adjust their
mindset and have prepared to face the new
nature of work, working environment and
company culture.
2 major positions will become a new trend
Due to Covid-19 outbreak, consumer behaviour
has been changed. Its consequence the traditional
banks have launched more online activities and
improved their digital banking apps. With the
digital transformation on banking sector,
numbers of digital apps or platform have been
launched to facilitate public use, thus greatly
increasing the demand for e-commerce jobs to

support the electronic operation of banks in their
business operations. In addition, regulatory
Compliance professionals will be continuing in
high demand. They are mainly responsible for
upgrading the company regulatory level of and is
involved in the fight against fraud. it will be still a
hot spot in banking and finance sector in coming
years. Candidates with relevant work experience
and with Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC)
and/or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) skills will
also be the most sought-after talents in the
industry today.
2020年度,受新冠肺炎影響,銀行及金融服務業
職位空缺減少。僱主在招聘方面顯得保守,整個
招聘程序需多重批核才允許填補空缺或增添人
手。在大部分銀行的招聘過程中,會對求職者進
行多項背景審查,特別是求職者的犯罪記錄及財

2021 salary adjustment
在求職者方面,經過早前的裁員潮,有部份求職
者出現工作空窗期。他們在求職期間或需向僱主
解釋及展示自己在空窗期間如何自我增值。另
外,市場上同時出現一群有意從其他行業投身此
業的求職者,例如航空業及零售業等。他們都願
意投身銀行部門擔任前線職員、客戶服務員等工
作職位。唯僱主多認為這群求職者缺乏相關經
驗,亦因薪金預算有限,僱主們都期盼能夠聘請
有相關工作經驗的求職者。雖然市場工作範疇大
有不同,有部分僱主仍歡迎缺少經驗的求職者加
入行業,但在薪酬方面可能相對保守。
The salaries of intermediate to senior positions
will increase according to market demand. As
there is a great demand for IT talents in the
market, the salary adjustment will continue to
rise. For job seekers with no relevant work
experience, their salaries may not be satisfactory
due to the impact of the overall economy trend.
In 2021, the contract role is formulated according
to the business development needs of banks, such
as some short-term projects or businesses,
which are mostly contract-based or outsourced
recruitment, and effectively reduce the
administrative work of recruitment.
兩大職位將成未來新趨勢
在疫情襲港期間,改變消費者生活及消費模式,
令傳統銀行服務加推網上活動及加強其手機應用
程式功能,以方便大眾使用。因而令電子商務的
職位需求大增,以支援銀行在業務運作中電子
化。另外,金融法規職位亦是熱門工作之一。金
融法規人員主要負責提升行業的監管水平,同時
牽涉打擊詐騙活動,成為近年銀行及金融服務界
的新寵。而具相關工作經驗的求職者,亦會是現
今業內比較渴求的人才。
2021薪酬調整
中級至高級職位薪酬將按市場需求增幅。而資訊
科技人才因市場需求甚多,薪酬調整將會持續上
升。而不具相關工作經驗的求職者,受整體經濟
影響,薪酬或會未如理想。
對於銀行職位以合約方式招聘,與傳統招聘方式
兩者之間又有何不同?在2021,合約制度按照銀
行的業務發展需求而訂,例如一些短期項目或業
務,多以合約模式或外判招聘,並有效減少招聘
的行政工作。
就着未來市場發展的不確定趨勢,僱主的招聘條
件亦同時提高,重視求職者的相關經驗。而一眾
求職者仍普遍樂意接受合約工作,以獲得穩定的
工作為首要目標。對於有意轉行的求職者必須調
整自己的心態,要有足夠的意志面對新工作性

加薪幅度比以往低
受疫情影響,零售商店營業額受打擊,不少僱主就

營業員部份薪酬來自傭金部分。隨疫情影響令遊客
數量大跌,一些奢侈品商店,如鐘錶、珠寶等高級
商品生意率跌近九成,令員工傭金減少,加上公司
實行凍薪政策,行業整體薪酬下跌。
疫境中,家品及食品的營運銷售卻比過往好。主要
原因是不少市民留在家中,故此對日常用品及食品
的需求大增。此類行業的銷售員的加薪幅度仍可有
約3-5百分比。如跳槽、轉工等薪酬升幅就由過往
的20百分比跌至10百分比左右。可見薪酬幅度大
不如前。
聘請條件要求提高
本年度受疫情影響,各零售商店在聘請員工時,都
對銷售求職者的表現要求有所提高。在過去的招聘
當中,只要應徵者表現理想,能符合公司基本要
求,都能成功取錄。但現今,就公司的財政預算有
限,僱主期盼在眾多求職者中選出突出的銷售員。
盼望銷售員能為公司帶來一班固定的新客源,以協
助公司提高營業額。若銷售員能主動尋求客源,將
會是僱主在未來招聘中著重的主要因素。而對於大
型企業,僱主展望僱員在客戶關係管理方面有相關
的經驗。
銷售後勤人員的聘請著重相關經驗。僱主會考慮求
職者有否在網絡管理、第三方平台經營及其他地區
的營銷平台具有相關經驗。受訪者指出,假設求職
者在過往具成功的經驗例子,能助公司提升銷售
率,讓僱主獲取信心,這類經驗者的求職成功機會
率較高。
此外,在中環、金鐘等工作地區的銷售員必需具有
良好的溝通語言。故此,求職者的語言能力亦為重
要,例如普通話、英語等語言。
隨着人流下降,商店不可再依賴門市的營業額。因
此,公司將增添後勤人員以協助網頁平台的操作及
管理。同時,後勤人員除熟悉業硬件及軟件的操作
外,若曾持有其他國家的購物平台操作經驗,如日
本、海外地區,並能運用日文、英語等語言拓展新
平台,這將是後勤人員的一個大優勢。

未來網上購物或會減退 行業期望回復平穩發展
本年度不少行業透過網上購物平台以增加收入,
故此網上顧客服務員需求上升。但研究表示2021
年有望疫情和本港情況回復平穩,市民出門購物
回升時,網上購物平台的顧客服務需求將會轉回
面對面的顧客服務需求,屆時一眾前線的客戶服
務人員的需求將會增加。另一方面, 對於一些前
線客服能否轉型到語音客服工作,大多取決求職
者心態,畢竟,面對面的客戶服務形式與網上/電
話提供服務的工作模式大有不同。即使在客戶服
務中具有相關的工作經驗,但求職者在面對兩種
不同的服務範疇中亦難以適應工作。同時地,市
場上仍有一群具有兩者相關經驗人士求職。
客戶服務薪酬升幅保守上升
在薪酬方面,業界的初級客戶服務員薪酬整體比
往年上升,約有10%增幅。因應工作需要而實行
輪班制或假日工作的岡位,薪酬可達$15,000,同
往年上升大約10-15%。相反,主管級的薪酬升幅
比較著重於求職者的經驗。普遍整個客戶服務行
業的薪酬增幅相對地保守。而且管理層職位在市

行業困難及技能需求
在外在環境改變及挑戰之下, 員工學習新技能或提
高現有技能是一個增加自身競爭力的需要。以電
話客戶服務員工作為例,服務員除透過電話解決
顧客需要外,僱主期盼員工亦能同時透過電話進
行銷售服務,以增加業務收入。而外賣平台等客
服,要求員工有流暢的語言能力外,亦能應付到
客人的投訴處理。假設遇到刁鑽的客人,仍能透
過電話協調及提供適切的解決。此外,一些大型
企業的客戶服務員,更需按績效指標工作,由致
電率、銷售服務至推廣服務,都可透過顧客服務
員的服務平台作監督。僱主希望員工除做到績效
要求,更需抱有進取的工作態度。故此,求職者
想應聘工作前,可率先了解公司對員工的工作要
求,以配合公司營運發展。

skills and communication skills were emphasized.

knowledge and execution ability in order to deal
with communication with different sectors are
more preferred.
In terms of remuneration, the salaries of junior
staff have been reduced relatively this year.

engineering, construction, electronic technology

本港經濟需受過去九個月的疫情打擊、不少企業
的薪酬增幅下降。但對工程行業的薪酬未顯影響
力。主要原因是本港的工程發展項目、市場對專
業人才的需求高企。工程項目在經濟不穩定當中
仍未間斷。因此對薪酬仍保持平穩的增幅。
電子、電機、機械工程成業界發展的主要趨勢
本港工程涉及土木工程、建築、電子科技等方
面,當中以電子工程、電機工程及機械工程發展
為主要大趨勢,電與機械兩者相輔相成。一些電
子常用儀器:如發電機、電腦晶片等與電子機械
科技有着牽連的重大關係。現時,不少工廠線生
產過程講求自動化,以機械日常自動生產代替人
手運作,以節省人手運作時間,節省薪金開支。
有助生產行業以最少的資金賺取最大的得益。
本港現時常見的工程項目範疇包括:電子、電機
及機械範疇。當中牽涉各種專業技術及運用,故
此,僱員在招聘及要求都相對審慎。受訪者指
出:行業招聘的競爭激烈,大多數要求應徵者具
有至少兩年的相關經驗。此外,應徵者的專業技

most appropriate choice. On the other hand,
welfare and compensation departments play an
important role in the impact phase of the
epidemic, mainly responsible for employee
welfare, security policies and so on. This position
will be extremely important in the future as to
attract and remain talents. With the improvement
of the information technology system, many
companies have used the management system
solution HRIS System to replace the current data
processing in human resources management.
Therefore, in future recruitment, enterprises may
focus on whether job seekers can possess IT skills
and take the lead in considering recruiting
candidates who have passed the HRIS test and the
UAT test.
Salary can still be increased by 10%.
In terms of salary, there has been a basic annual
increase. There is no sign of a sudden drop in pay
because of the epidemic, but from our
observations the pay rise this year was obviously
slowly under the influence of the epidemic, with an
increase of only about 10% compared with the
previous 10% to 30%. For some human resources

departments in the FMCG industry, there’s no
significant impact to their business under the
epidemic, hence, the departments can continue to
operate smoothly and actively recruit talents in
the market.
In view of the fact that the "work from home" mode
has emerged under the influence of the epidemic,
many department heads are worried about the
work efficiency of their staff and hope that they
can effectively monitor their operation. It is
suggested that human resources departments
should provide matching facilities in terms of
management skills and formulate a series of new
working platforms, such as professional training
and online monitoring system, to ensure that
department heads can properly monitor the work
efficiency and up-to-standard operation of their
staff.
本年度業界面對突如其來的社會問題,例如受新

市場恢復運作 重新吸納專業人才
對於招聘暫停,僱主需待市場恢復正常運作,條
件許可下再重啟招聘工作,物色合適人才加入行
列。而2021年度,本業的發展去向依附着企業市
場及商業運作。當市場及經濟條件允許,此業都
期望能夠再吸納一班合適條件的人力資源管理的
專業人才加入。展望在未來的招聘中,人事行政
專員、人力資源業務合作夥伴的需求更多。相
反,專責招聘工作的部門職位相對需求不大。對
於未來招聘需求轉變,建議求職者可從事助理職
位,獲取多方面經驗,再逐步晉升。當然,這未
必是一個最適切的選擇。而另一方面,福利與薪
酬部門在疫情影響階段中擔當一個重要的角色,
主要負責員工福利、保障政策等。此職位在未來

薪酬仍可有10百分比增長

出現驟降跡象,不過,受訪者表示本年度業界的
薪酬升幅明顯受疫情影響下顯得保守,增幅比起
過往的10至30百分比相對較低,約只有10百分比

鑒於疫情影響之下,出現「在家工作」模式,不

In light of the social events and COVID-19
pandemic, Hong Kong’s export-oriented economy
has been influenced by the economic and
diplomatic forces of foreign countries, resulting in
instability in the sales industry. As Hong Kong’s
economy is dependent on foreign trade, it is a
considerable impact on the development of the
industry, be it employees or job seekers.
The social events have had a great impact on
different industries since June 2019. While there
were little impact for some sectors, like the stock
market, Mainland market or the foreign markets at
that time, the pandemic impact has greatly
affected global trade. Many businesses are
starting to be hit. As a result, employers are more
cautious and conservative in their recruitment
plans, which are subject to change or could be
stopped at any time. Employers are more selective
in recruiting, and their entry requirements are
more demanding as compared to the past.
Recruitment process is prolonged due to the
impact of different emergencies and stringent
screening process.

2020 unemployment rate is higher than previous
years, leading to an increase in the number of job
seekers and fierce competition in the job market. In
addition, in terms of remuneration, employers
have also made adjustments to their salary
structure. The original base salary portion may be
reduced and the commission portion may be
relatively higher.
In the face of economic instability and uncertainty,
employers have become more conservative. The
interviewees indicated that conservative-minded
employers may miss candidates with great
potential. For different company culture and
business operation, it is difficult to choose the best
candidate out of the application pool. The
employers while being conservative have raised
the recruitment requirements, it is inevitable that
they will miss out some of the right people in the
rigorous screening process. In addition, many
currently working job seekers are more passive in
changing jobs. While being concerned about the
salary of the new job, they also worry about the
challenges of new working environment.
Interviewees expressed that the hiring demand
dropped suddenly in February 2020 when the
pandemic was getting more serious. There was a
rebound in hiring demand at the end of May, but
the recruitment process was put on hold again
when the pandemic hit again in July 2020. The
hiring demand bounced back faster than expected.
Some companies have restarted recruitment. If the
pandemic is well monitored and controlled in
2021, it is foreseeable that the economic situation
would be less volatile, more stable and the market
would be better. By then, the accumulated talent
demand would emerge and increase. The market
demand for salespeople remains unchanged.
Employers can easily find the appropriate

candidate through the revenue generated by the
salesperson.
Under more demanding recruitment requirements,
job seekers could make relevant adjustments
accordingly. Firstly, job seekers need to be patient
in the lengthy job hunting process. Secondly, they
could further enhance their skill sets. Some sales
businesses were deeply affected by the pandemic.
They would consider whether they should switch
their roles at this time. It is recommended that job
seekers maintain a positive mindset in order to
cope with the unexpected challenges during the
recruitment process and find the suitable job
positions. In terms of remuneration, there is no
material change in the salary range for all levels
but the median salary pay has dropped slightly.
For example, for the salary range of
$15,000-$20,000, there could be a 10%-15%
increment. For mid-level roles or above, salary
increment would vary. For job transfer, salary
increment is subject to work performance. In
general, the industry maintained 15%-20% growth
in the past. However, due to market uncertainty,
salary growth has dropped to about 10%.
Adjustments were made to the respective base
salary and commission rates. Interviewees added
that there is a slight decline in the starting salary
of graduates and the salaries for transferees do
not have the same increment as they did in the
past.
In 2021 job market, due to the pandemic, the
demand for IT solution sales may increase for the
model of working from home and the use of social
media. As many enterprises have gone digital,
they are actively making good use of e-commerce
platforms. However, not every company has the
expertise to operate the electronic platforms, so
there would be an increase in demand for IT
solution sales. In addition, the demand for
salespeople in some industries remains relatively
stable, such as building materials, construction
industry etc. The impact of the pandemic on this
type of work is relatively minor.

由上年度六月的社會事件開始,對不同業界造成很
大衝擊。雖然有部分企業:如股票市場、國內或國
外市場在此階段受影響甚微,但順連在疫情打擊
下,全球貿易大受影響。許多企業開始被衝擊。故
此,僱主在招聘計劃中顯得謹慎及保守,招聘計劃
隨時改動或停止。僱主在招聘中嚴格選
才,入職要求比過往亦相對提高。招聘受不同突發
事件影響及嚴謹篩選的過程而延長。
本年失業率較以往高,導致市場上的求職競爭對手
增多,邀爭亦變得激烈。另外,在薪金方面,僱主
於薪金結構方面亦有所調整,原有的底薪部份或會
減少,而傭金部份則相對增多。面對市場上的經濟
不穩定性及不明朗,僱主心態變得保守。受訪者
指:保守的心態導致僱主或會錯過具有潛質的求職
者。就住不同企業的工作文化及營運模式,在眾多
求職者中難以挑選出十全十美的人選。但僱主保守
的考慮令招聘要求被提高,因此在嚴密的篩選過程
中難免會錯過一些合適的人才。另外,現時不少的
在職人士在轉工求職顯得較被動。一方面顧慮新工
作的薪金、另一方面亦考慮到新工作環境的挑戰。
受訪者表示,在二月疫情嚴峻時,僱主對招聘需求

突然下降。至五月底需求曾出現復甦,但受七月
的疫情再襲,招聘再次暫緩。令過後的招聘需求
反彈比想像中快。部分企業開始重啓招聘。展望
2021年度若疫情受控,不穩定性相對明朗化,經
濟情況漸趨穩定, 整體市場將會轉好。屆時,所累
積的人才需求將會霎時湧現,人才需求上升。而
市場對銷售員的需求仍然不變。僱主能透過銷售
員的營業額,輕易得悉這是否合適的招職人選。
面對招聘要求提高,求職者可作出相對應變。在
面對求職期延長,求職者需保持耐性。其次,在
此階段可充分裝備自己。部分銷售員在面對疫情
突襲期間,業務受深切影響。他們會考慮此階段
是否需要轉型投身其他職位工作。建議求職者保
持正面樂觀的心態,以應付招聘期間突如其來的
挑戰,勇於嘗試合適自己的工作。
在薪酬方面,各級別的薪酬範圍沒有重大改變,
唯整體薪酬中位數稍為下跌。薪酬有$15,000$20,000為例,仍可約10-15%增幅。而在中級或
以上職位,薪酬升幅亦有不同。對於求職者轉
職,亦可按其工作能力而加薪。一般而言,過往
業界普偏維持15-20%增長。但現階段受市場不明
朗因素影響,薪酬增長保守減至約10%。在底薪
及傭金各比例有所調整。受訪者補充,畢業生起
薪點出見稍微下跌的趨勢;另一方,轉職者的薪金

在2021的市場職位空缺上,就近半年的疫情影
響,在家工作模式及媒體運用促使對資訊科技業
務的需求或會增加。因不少企業已轉型電子化,
積極運用電子商貿平台。但未見每所企業都有專
才操作電子平台,故此,需要資訊科技業務的需
求增多。另外,部份行業的銷售人員需求也未有
重大影響,如建築材料、建造業等。此類工作在
疫情下影響較為輕微。

The uncertainty of the industry limits the work
planning in the human resources department, as a
result, salary adjustment in 2020 are insignificant. In

Salary adjustment is insignificant
In the face of economic uncertainty, salary levels

high demand
With the demand for digital marketing talent has still
been strong and recruitment has been active, it
attracted a group of experienced marketers, fresh
graduates, marketers who have been working at
traditional marketing, or even workers from other
industry. However, it’s not easy to choose the right
candidates out of all job seekers. Hiring managers are
more interested in recruiting candidates with solid
digital marketing skills and are expected to be able to
leverage digital media to drive sales. Especially in the
consumer goods industry, 60% of them employ
candidates with work experience in digital marketing.
Going by this trend, we expect the positive growth
demand for marketers with analytic skills in some
sectors such as the fast-moving consumer goods
(FMCG) and retail industries, their primary task is to
assist employers drive business through data
analysis. This involves the management of big data,
such as revenue from promotional activities, ad click
rates, social media exposure, etc. It is recommended
that job seekers to upskill in these areas eg ability to use
google analytics tools and e-Communication tools.

less willing to put an effort and resources on the
e-commerce platforms, especially in the luxury retail
industry. However, with the transformation of the
consumer consumption patterns and the huge
demand service for e-commerce, many brands
vigorously started to develop their online shopping
platforms/ applications. As a result, there has also
been a substantial increase in demand of the
e-commerce talents. At the same time, due to the
shortage of experienced e-commerce talents in the
market which makes the recruitment process has
become relatively difficult than the traditional
industry.

In 2020, affected by the epidemic, many
educational institutions in Hong Kong and
enterprises such as international kindergartens
were forced to suspend their operations. For the
sudden drop in capital income, many employers
have to laid off or put teachers on furlough for the
transitional epidemic, so as toreduce the use of
finance to maintain the operation of the company.
Even if some kindergartens which are well-known
in the education sector have stable financial
operation in the past, in the face of the sudden
suspension of classes, some schools may have no
funds to pay their teachers which could be at risk
of closure . In addition, educational centers that
provide students with overseas studies are also
affected by the global impact of the epidemic, and
a large number of senior staff or middle-level staff
in the industry have no intention of changing their
working environment and choose to stay on.
Although a number of education companies have
reduced their staff due to the closure of business,
still fewer than other industries.

Looking forward to 2021, the market economy of
the education industry will be improving slowly.
Although some employers are still worried about
the development impact of the epidemic, the
demand for hiring junior staff may be reduced in
enterprises' recruitment plans in the coming year,
mainly because such workers have less practical
experience in the industry. if the application
conditions are not fully met, the chances of being
employed are slim. On the contrary, they tend to
recruit the middle class, but the recruitment
conditions will also be relatively improved,
attaching importance to the professional ability of
candidates, or even being able to use senior staff
to cope with the work of junior staff. Respondents
estimated that in the future recruitment trend,
there is a large proportion of experienced job
seekers. For example: sales manager, admissions
officer and other positions. However, it is believed
that the success rate of candidates will be
improved in the next few months.
Salary increase is different from other industries
With regard to the annual pay increase in the
education sector, the pay of the junior staff
generally increases by 5% to 10%, while the senoir
staff can be as high as 15%. However, due to the
impact of the epidemic this year, the salary
increase rate has decreased to around 5%
comparing with past years. After all, the service
target of the education sector is relatively single,
and the pay increase is different from other
industries.
STEM continue a growing trend
In recent years, the education industry has turned
to e-learning. We believe in coming future,
e-teaching will organically replace the current
face-to-face teaching model. It has simplified

teachers’workflow, so they can deal with daily
teaching work anytime and anywhere by using
electronic technology. In fact, many traditional
school teachers have also changed to e-teaching
through online software such as ZOOM, Microsoft
Teams and so on. In addition, Hong Kong has been
committed to implement STEM education in recent
years, and the teaching contents are integrated
into four major areas: science, technology,
engineering and mathematics. Promote students
to learn online and acquire knowledge in the
game. As a result, some IT teachers or teaching
staff who have gained relevant experience are
more popular in the workplace. Therefore,
emphasis will be placed on the skills of job seekers
in areas such as information technology. In the
face of the ongoing digital transformation, it brings
pressure to many traditional school teachers and
experienced teachers. They need to learn how to
apply knowledge of new technology into their
teaching. Its recommended that teachers should
be prepared for the new change brought by the
e-teaching. Currently, some kindergarterns have
already
implemeted
electronic
classroom
management, thus forming a new trend that IT is
the main way for students to learn.

降,不少僱主為過渡疫情選擇裁減教員或停薪留
職政策,減少財政運用來維持公司營運。即使一
些在教育界中稍有名氣的幼稚園,在過去穩定的
財政經營,但面對突然停課,導致營運資金困
難,校方亦無法付薪予校內教師。將引致倒閉危
機。另外,為學生提供海外升學的教育中心,受
疫情肆虐全球的影響下同受衝擊,本行業的一些
高級員工或中層職位人員都無意轉換工作環境,
選擇繼續留任。雖然有不少教育公司因停止營業
而縮減人員,但相比起其他行業已較為少
歷。但主要考慮應徵者在教育行列的相關經驗及
教學心態,能與學生及家長建立良好的關係,並
熟悉教育於商業中的營運模式。隨着英文及普通
話言語越來越普及,語言水平亦是僱主會首要考
慮的其一原素。學術資歷或專業資格反而是次要
的考慮因素。若從海外回港的應聘者,需在求職
者中突顯自己做足準備。
招聘需求改變
推行STEM教育 學習電子化
展望2021年,教育行業市場經濟能慢慢好轉。雖
然部分僱主因為疫情的發展影響仍然感到擔憂,
導致企業來年的招聘計劃中,聘用初級員工的需
求或會減少,主要原因是這類工作者在行業中的
實踐經驗較少,若應聘條件未能完全符合,受聘
的機會不大;反而傾向招聘中層階級,但招聘條
件相對也會提高,重視應徵者的專業能力,甚或
應付初級員工的工作估計在未來的招聘趨勢,具
經驗的資深求職者需求比例佔多。例如:銷售經
理、招生人員等職位。
近年,教育行業轉向電子學習化,相信在未來的
教學工作上,電子教學有機取替現今面授教學模
式。簡化成教師運用電子科技隨時隨地就可處理
日常教學工作。不少傳統教學人員亦已轉型電子
教學上課,透過ZOOM、Microsoft Teams等網上
程式進行教學。加上,本港近年致力推行STEM
教育,教學內容以科學、科技、工程及數學四大
範疇互相結合。促進學生網上學習,玩樂形式中
獲取知識。因此,一些任教資訊科技科目的教師
或取得相關經驗的教學人員在職場上較 吃香。
因此,在招聘中會著重求職者在資訊科技等範疇
的技能。面對以上發展趨勢,為不少傳統教學人
員、資深經驗的老師帶來壓力。他們需學習如何
透過電子科技進行教學, 在教師專業發展上作新
培訓。建議教員在面對教學法的新模式,必須要
有心理準備迎接電子教學在教育行列帶來的新轉
機。現時,已有一些新興起的幼稚園利用電子化
作班房管理,使資訊科技作為學生學習的主要途
徑,形成一個新趨勢。
薪酬增幅有別其他業界
每年教育界別的薪酬增長,初級階層的薪酬增長
普遍為5至10的百分比增長;中級階級的薪酬增幅
最高可有15百分比。但本年度受疫情影響,本年
增幅有所減少,大約5個百分比。畢竟教育界別的
服務對象較單一,薪酬增幅有別其他業界。
