JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Head of People Experience (HR Operations) Reporting to: Director of People Team: People Team Location: Currently working from home while our office is closed. We are normally based at 1 Westfield Avenue, Stratford, London, E20 1HZ Hours: 35 hours per week. Other flexible arrangements will be considered Job Level: Level 2 Salary: c£55,000 per annum Duration: Permanent Disclosure Level: Basic About the team The People team plays a critical role in Unicef UK achieving its mission and vision. We do this by providing systems, processes and interventions that are aligned to the strategy and that enable the organisation to fulfil its potential. We are on a journey as a team of transformation to enhance the service and value we provide, and the operations team plays a critical part in supporting that transformation. This post sits on the People Leadership Team and line manages the People Assistants (currently two). Purpose of Post We are passionate about providing excellent customer experiences for people at work at all touchpoints of the employee life cycle. From recruitment and onboarding to support with administering benefits and pay, the Head of People Experience will lead a small team that ensures that these interactions are the best possible experiences for our colleagues. This position collaborates with the Director of People on the strategic direction of our people experience, ensuring that the current and future needs of internal and external customers are met. The Head of People Experience is critical to ensuring the embedding of a new people system, maximising our operating model and service proposition, and driving process improvements across the People Team. The role oversees recruitment administration, onboarding, legal compliance, payroll, data and reporting and other general peoplerelated activities within the team. Responsibilities • • Lead and deliver initiatives centred around enhancing the overall employee experience and employer brand. Manage, motivate and develop the People Assistants who provide comprehensive operational support for the team in delivering the People team strategy and vision, enabling the organisation to do its best work for children. • • • • • • • • • • Lead on embedding our new People System, acting as system administrator and making sure that we are making the best use of it and that colleagues are confident in using it. Develop data reporting and metrics to drive strategic data insights for the organisation, including the development of SLAs and monthly, quarterly and annual KPIs. Support the Director of People and People Business Partners to promote a culture of evidence-based decision making and data awareness. This includes regularly presenting data and analysis to the Senior Leadership Team. Manage aspects of the People budget, including regular reforecasting, and managing vendor relationships to ensure Unicef UK obtains maximum value for money and high-quality service delivery. Contribute to the development and delivery of the overall People Strategy and deliver projects identified as key enablers to the overall People and organisation strategy. Work collaboratively with colleagues on the People leadership team on strategic projects and people focused initiatives Support and enable a culture of continuous improvement within the People team. Manage the creation and maintenance of process maps and standard operating procedures, ensuring they are regularly updated, fit for purpose and compliant. Lead initiatives that develop the People team’s service proposition, including ensuring that the People Assistants deliver effective and high-quality administration, promoting a positive culture of self-service and developing a service that meets the current and future needs of colleagues. Work collaboratively with the Head of Talent and other stakeholders across the People, Strategy and Information Directorate to ensure that all new recruits receive a smooth and effective induction and feel supported throughout the employee lifecycle. Maintain a full suite of policies and user guides and increase accessibility to drive consistency, clarity and accountability within the organisation. Act as a technical expert on the Information Governance Group. The group ensures effective planning, protection and optimisation of Unicef UK’s information assets, balancing risk with ongoing business effectiveness and ensuring Unicef UK manages the data it holds compliantly. Support and advise the People Advisers e.g. with parental leave, flexible working or and any other queries that have an impact on payroll. Build and nurture effective working relationships with key operational partners of the People team e.g. Finance, Strategy and Information teams. Work on strategic projects cross functionally in a collaborative way, ensuring excellent service delivery.
