“If you made it, you can sell it.”
The Haslett Band Boosters is making every effort to provide the community a Craft Show of purely hand-made
goods. We ask that all vendors sell only goods that conform to the following definition: “If you made it, you can sell
it.” We will be refining this definition throughout the year. We expect all vendors to comply.
In the past, we have occasionally found vendors selling manufactured and or second hand goods at their booths,
and in these cases the vendors were asked to put the goods away. Other times we found slightly modified
versions of manufactured goods, which arguably could be viewed as at least partly “hand-made, and we handled
these on a “case by case” basis. We also have found food for sale by vendors that is consumable on site, which is
not in compliance with food safety standards and our rules. We asked that these items be removed.
This year we will again have members of the Haslett Band Boosters checking that the goods for sale are indeed
hand-made and meet our Craft Show expectations. If we find that a vendor’s goods do not meet the definition of
“hand-made by the vendor”, the vendor will not be invited back for next year’s Holidays in Haslett Craft Show. We
believe that this is in the best interests of the many serious Crafters who participate in our show year after year,
and it will serve our shoppers who are looking for good quality hand-made craft items.
We realize that despite our best efforts, things might not work perfectly as we strive to retain the purity of our
show as a “Craft” show. We welcome your comments, and we hope we will have your understanding as we work
towards this goal. Please help us and work with us on this, and in so doing we believe we can provide all the
crafters a stronger and better show.
