Overview of the importance of VIP (the process of a Visitor Invitation) ----------------------Hope to help the members understand the importance of the Visitor Invitation Process. Why do we think it is important for each one to participate in the process of deciding whom to invite as a guest for their fellow member? We are all here to grow our own businesses, surely. Each member should be given the importance, help and support from us for their presentation to have the maximum impact. In the same way, that we would like the precise category of guests to be invited by our fellow members for our own feature presentation, when the time comes. BNI provides a wonderful platform called BNI Connect to work with, through which we invite visitors and pre-register them for a meeting. Please do make a note that it is important for the members to register their guests on BNI Connect as it marks attendance and gives credits in the PALMS report. Following up with the visitors is also important to make sure that they do attend. Each step of this process involves interaction and communication between the chapter members, leadership teams and the chapter Director Consultant.we ---------------------- COMMUNICATION & TIMING As we all are aware that networking is super essential in building this chapter, so one needs to be a ‘natural communicator’… But, what if you are not?? These FOUR tips will help you make the connections. 1. FOCUS ON THE RIGHT PEOPLE – Identify the available categories in your chapter. It is not enough to just attend every Thursday meeting and circulate your biz cards, in the hope that something will work out. The secret to networking in Nepttune is to concentrate on the people who you know will be able to make a difference in your business. 2. CREATE WIN-WIN SITUATIONS FOR BOTH PARTIES. It is very important that both you and the visitor gain equally when they are invited to your chapter. Attending this weekly early morning for a visitor is beneficial as they should be able to exchange businesses within your forum. 3. Givers … GAIN Ask, and thou shall receive… is passé. GIVE and thou shall receive MORE. In networking situations, people expect you to ask them for help. At BNI Nepttune, we OFFER support. 4. BE A CONNECTOR One doesn’t always have to gain something in a networking relationship. If you can introduce people who can benefit from one another, it's just as effective. This will be very helpful if followed, especially for the members who will be showcasing their feature presentations each week. One of the best ways to meet like-minded people is to establish potential member categories that are open & pertinent in our chapter, for all of us to grow together. _______________ BUILDING A POWERFUL SYSTEM Networkers like us deliver three unique advantages while inviting guests: • Private information • Access to diverse skill sets • Trusted Partnership Entrepreneurs see these advantages at work every day, but might not pause to consider how their networks regulate them. 1. Private information, by contrast, is gathered from our personal contacts. They offer something unique that cannot be found in the public domain. 2. When you exchange information with people whose experiences differ from your own, you provide one another with exceptionally valuable resources. 3. When we enrich ourselves with such private information and have access to diverse skill sets within our fellow members, we become the most trusted networking module to showcase to any visitor. IDENTIFY YOUR NETWORK Build a crucial contact sphere: 1. A crucial contact could be your former college roommate who has become influential in an area of interest to you and your firm, it could be a current business associate, Or an old colleague from the first company you ever worked for, or even your own brother-in-law. As you write down each name, think of the resources you exchange with that person and the strength of your ties. 2. Create opportunities: We have all heard it a million times; The best way to create business opportunities for yourself is through your professional network. Of course, in order to network, you need to have people to network with—but in the current situation, those people may not be accessible. Therefore, we as a professional business network group should spend time in identifying the right connects to grow more business for each other. 3. Monitor where your visitors are coming from, in order to measure whether your networking activities are successful or not. Don’t be afraid to experiment. Refine your approach if something is not working and focus more time on the activities that achieve the best results. So, what are you waiting for?? Now more than ever, let’s start inviting. HAPPY CONNECTING!!
