WEARING A MASK DURING THE PANDEMIC: DOS AND DON'TS https://www.johnsonme.com/ • Face masks, according to experts, can preserve people's health while also slowing the spread of COVID-19. The new coronavirus may be spread by respiratory droplets in the air, such as those produced by sneezing, coughing, or even talking. Thus, a mask or respirator serves as a barrier, preventing the droplets from reaching another person. • But it is only effective if worn appropriately. So, here are some dos and don'ts when it comes to wearing a face respirator. DO'S: HOW TO PUT ON A MASK? • • • • • Before putting on your mask, wash your hands well. Put it over your nose and mouth and under your chin to keep it in place. Make sure it's tight against your cheekbones. Check to see whether you're able to get a good breath. Masks with an exhalation valve or vent are not recommended, according to the CDC. DON'T: PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH YOUR MASK: • Hand hygiene (washing hands or using hand sanitizer) should be practiced before and after touching or changing your mask if it is necessary. DO'S: CAREFULLY REMOVE YOUR MASK: • • • • • Stretch the ear loops or untangle the threads behind your head. Only use the ear loops or ties to hold them in place. Fold the mask in half, leaving only the exterior exposed, by bringing the ear loops or ties together. While removing your respirator, be cautious not to contact your eyes, nose, or mouth. After you've removed your mask, wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. DO'S: HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR MASK? • • • Clean your mask regularly. Your mask may be washed with your usual washing. For the fabric used to produce the mask, use standard laundry detergent and the warmest acceptable water setting. DO'S: HOW TO REMOVE AND DRY YOUR MASK? • Use the highest acceptable heat setting in the dryer for the mask-making fabrics and then put them in the dryer to dry thoroughly. • Lay flat to air dry and allow to dry completely. Place the mask in direct sunlight if feasible. DO'S: SAFEGUARD YOURSELF AND OTHERS • • • • • If you're infected with COVID-19 but don't have symptoms, use a mask covering your nose and mouth to help protect others. Avoid wearing the mask over your neck or on your brow. Keep a distance of at least six feet between you and others. Avoid coming into contact with ill people. Hands should be washed at least once a day for at least 20 seconds. STAT SAFE WITH RESPIRATORS! • People may wear a face shield instead of a mask. But the CDC does not recommend using face shields as a replacement for masks or respirators at this time. So, if you're going to wear a respirator, go with Johnsonme because they're trying to provide the ones which not only safeguard the health of yourself but also of others in your neighborhood, and finally, you might also be protecting yourself and the people you care about from COVID-19.
