The inland region of China is a mountainous area and the sea side is a flatland. When it comes to industry, the more plane the grand is, the more suitable for it. That is because, industry needs transportation and transportation needs flatland. Therefore, China has poverty gap between inland and sea side. Furthermore, there are also some differences of food. On the other hand, the food of south part of China is called Cantonese cuisine, which is mainly sweet and weak taste. Moreover, the food of the east part of China is called Shanghai cuisine, which is mainly sour taste. Additionally, the food of the middle of China is called Sichuan cuisine, which is mainly spicy taste. Impression Before the speech I assumed that I knew most of China, but it was misunderstanding. I didn’t know the taste of Chinese food is significantly different depending on the part. I thought that it was interesting and the climate of the part relates to these difference. He used gesture exaggeratedly to explain how big China is. I learned that gestures are very effective when I want to emphasize and I should overdo especially when I explain really important things. 4th speech’s summery 4th speaker is from Thailand. He told about the Tai language. Tai language has 9 vowels and 42 consonant. Furthermore, it has 5 different pronunciation. These have different tone which refers to a change in the pitch of a syllable during its pronunciation. In Tai language, every syllable is pronounced in one of five tones: low, mid, high, falling, or rising. Additionally, written characters of tai language are very unique. Each character has a small circle at the end of the line. Moreover, a lot of words in Tai language came from other languages such as Sanskrit, Pali, Burmese and Chinese. Impression I could not believe that there are 5 different tones for each letter. Since I could not identify these 5 tones, I thought that it was so hard that I could not understand Tai language. However, it was very interesting that the characters of Tai language are individual. I thought that these letters are cute and I was curious about the way of writing in Tai language. He gave us some example to explain in detail by actuary pronouncing some words. Therefore, I thought that really showing example is an effective way to make audience understood.
