note (3): these are minimum amounts of desiccant.
note (4): the engine oil tank must be fully drained.
note (5): 131-9b model apu requires 2 pounds of desiccant in the inlet and 2 pounds in the exhaust area. the aps5000 and
131-9aapu‘s require 4 pounds located in the shipping container. the other apu models (36-300a, ap82300, 3315008, 331-200er, 331—3500,85-98dhf, and 36-2800) do not require desiccant to be installed.
note (6): apu’s which are stored inside a warehouse location and in a sealed container do not have to be unboxed for the
monthly rechecks unless damage or deterioration is noted to the box, no action required for monthly health checks.
note (7): monthly checks of engines (and unboxed apu’s) should be completed in accordance with the guidance of gpm
08.033. and documented in table 3 of this form.
note (8): engines and apu’s made serviceable and left in a controlled environment, do not need to have the monthly desiccant
check log performed until the day the engine or apu is distributed to the field, per gpm 08.033.
note (9): complete table 2 when engine/apu is serviceable and is leaving the controlled environment as an operational spare
for the field.
note (10): controlled environment is defined as the following locations; inside pp overhaul buildings, designated air conditioned line mtx storage locations inside a controlled access room. hangar storage locations are not considered a
controlled environment.
