(Since this is a personal reflection, there are ideas that I will use the first person "I" to represent even
though this is a group project)
I never thought I would have to do such a big and professional project before. Thanks to it, I have learned
many useful lessons and experiences for my future luggage.
When working on the project, I wondered a lot about where I would start, how to do it, or do I have the
knowledge and ability to complete it? But instead of continuing to think meaningless, I started to learn,
and do it best based on all I got from this communication English course.
First, I started with finding businesses, organizations, ... that suit the requirements of the topic and my
abilities. I have put my skills to learn about companies through the website. I have learned how to find
the brand values and recruitment needs of each business.
After each member of my group found the companies, they thought were the best, we sat down to discuss
which company is the best fit. Since we have been taught by our teachers about each other's conflict types
as well as personalities, our group discussion has been exceptionally smooth. Group members have
listened to and respected the opinions of others. Though disagreements sometimes persisted, they were
quickly resolved. As a result, we have chosen the company we like: Captain Yacht Organization.
After finding a company I like, my team took the next step which was to contact them and explain their
needs. I have used the email writing skills I have learned to send to the director of that company so that
the mail is professional, polite, and formal ... Besides, I have attached the cover page and CV. At that time,
I had only a little adjustment to have a professional application file to submit.
With careful preparation, my group received the cooperation agreement from the organization.
In the working process is really when my skills are breakthrough. We have already started making requests
under the Business Project Guide. For the first time, I learned how to create a Facebook fan page. At first,
I was confused about how to do it, but my whole group also learned through YouTube, documents, ... This
is one of the few times I saw the power of teamwork and noticed that I developed this skill much more
than before.
Not stopping there, I also learned a lot more through posting on the fan page. Thanks to the previous
sessions, I got used to editing photos, videos, ... and introduced tools and software to support this, so
creating our logo, poster, or the cover page has become a lot easier. We have taken advantage of available
software like Photoshop or Web sites like Canvas to create compelling and lively posts.
Besides, this is also the first time I create a Google Form to survey people's opinions about the yacht
service that we are working with. Through this, it also helped me improve my Office skills a lot, especially
data statistics in Excel.
As a result, we have created a successful fan page. While the amount of interaction may not be much, it
makes us proud that we try to do the best we can.
Perhaps, one of the difficulties of my team working on this project is the report writing part. This is the
first time I must write a complicated report and it is quite long, but the pain is written in English. For
someone who cannot write like me, this report presents a great challenge. Finally, I made it through.
Thanks to it, my writing ability is much better now.
Perhaps, among the things that I have learned, the sense of responsibility is the significant factor that I
have been trained to. Because of this exercise, the responsibility is not simply to complete individual
assignments, group assignments, get high scores, be fair to the other members but now, the responsibility
is much greater. as it relates to the company, its reputation, and its image. Therefore, I have faced new
and much harsher pressure. But thanks to that, I have found myself much more mature.
These two courses gave me a lot of knowledge and skills that an entrepreneur needs. Although not all are
applied in this project, they are not meaningless and maybe, later, I know I will need them very much
because nothing is redundant knowledge.
In my opinion, the skills of communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, problem analysis in many
aspects, or writing mail, writing reports, Office, Photoshop, Canvas ... will follow me for a lifetime because
of that. Being an essential element of a versatile candidate is also what sets me apart in today's fiercely
competitive job market.
In the future, I will further train myself in the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English to
be more professional. Also, I will learn a third language to help myself have more job opportunities in an
international environment. I will also learn many other essential soft skills to help me become more
comprehensive. More than that, I will do my best to study well to get the highest GPA possible. Besides, I
will also actively participate in many activities inside and outside the classroom so that I can get lots of
training points. One of my closest goals is to be a good year student. That is also the first launch pad on
the journey to locate my image. I will also explore seminars, forums to meet successful entrepreneurs to
listen to and learn from them valuable experiences so that I can define and paint my future.
In short, thanks again for this project very much! Thanks to it, I have learned a lot of valuable knowledge
and experiences for my future in future.
