Human Right Violation Scenarios
Directions: As a class we will look at four scenarios. Three of the scenarios are human rights
violations and one is not. During the class discussion, answer the questions below the
scenarios.
Scenario 1:
In country X, those who want to belong to the Falun Gong religion are prohibited from meeting.
Scenario 2:
X copied Y’s essay and claimed it as his own.
Scenario 3:
The prison guards used dogs to frighten and intimidate detainees with threats of attack, and in
one instance they made dogs bite a detainee.
Scenario 4:
The children living in the village are unable to attend a primary school, as there is no such
school available within a reasonable distance.
