The significance of reading literary works and studying literature.
Based on my research, the significance of reading literary works and studying literature is that it
enhances a person’s imaginative thinking. Because studies have showed that reading literary works
can contribute to a person’s skills in critical thinking, creativity, to improve vocabulary, to improve
writing skills. Not only literary and literature enhances a person’s creativity, it is also informing a
factual history that no media can manipulate with. Author’s that are in the literature industry takes
an inspiration for a vast literary genre. In that, Author’s can take an inspiration from a human being
that has a very tremendous life story wherein the author could create a novel or a phenomenon that
relates to the character. Me as a keen book reader, I always look throughout the details of the
literary work the type of genre, story, the use of unique words. Every time I read I always apply
myself in the shoes of the author analyzing every details that it has written.
