While reading the article I found this quote, “‘The shipping bottlenecks will become more of an issue in November and December when you have that spike in holiday-related sales,’ said Aneta Markowska, chief economist at Jefferies LLC”. Throughout the article there are several mentions of the economy being generally on the rise as far as consumer spending goes. However the shipping bottleneck is becoming more and more of an issue, because it keeps raising the price. I’ve seen this play out first hand as several members of our community and my grandma are remodeling their houses and or building. The price for wood, and construction materials is ridiculous, and anything decent is a three month wait at least. After reading this article I wish I had the qualifications, because becoming a truck driver doesn’t seem like a bad idea right now. If the data and conclusions in this article are correct then the economy is headed in a good direction although we may run into some hiccups during this holiday season.
