Frayn Juan De Plasencia
- Written by him in 1589
- He was a Spanish prior of a Franciscan order
- He was belong among the first group of Franciscan missionaries who arrived in the island on July of
1578.
-He spent most of his missionary life in the Philippines where he founded numerous towns in Luzon
-Authored several religious and linguistic books most notably the Doctrina Christiana
- Doctrina Cristiana – First book ever printed the Philippines
- Upon his arrival in the Philippines he was also credited with foundation of the large number of towns in
the provinces of the Tagalog regions ( Laguna, Quezon, Bulacan and Rizal) He was assign to those areas
who did not settle in Intramuros (Spaniards called the extramuros people)
-As a prior, Live up to his pledge leading a lifestyle devoid of any luxury and in constant contact with the
people he was trying to convert to Christianity.
-He was also known to be a defender of the native population, looking after the poor, Ill or the
neglected and standing up for their rights on the numerous occasions.
- He wrote a number of books signed primarily to promote the understanding of Spanish language
among the natives.

People outside of intamuros were being Christianized because Fr. Plasencia and other missionaries have their own
task to let it become possible.

law of the government.
