In 1924, William H. Mason, a researcher, engineer, and inventor, made a
revolutionary discovery to make what s today known as prefabricating doors.
He changed the way wood was used to form more effective building materials.
This paved the way for a succession of new building products for the home.
The pioneer brand in molded door skin product is Masonite that begins its
existence in the USA in the late 1970’s. Throughout the next 25 years, interior
doors manufactured using molded door skin facings, in substitution of
traditional plywood, grew to over 50% on the entire USA interior door market.
