Abstract
The main aim of this research is to analyze the spatial experiences of international
students in Taiwan while they try to adapt with the new environment. There are two
kinds of adaptive experiences which are experienced by international students when
they move to new country to study, such as social-cultural experiences and physical
environmental experiences. According to the different background and culture, their
behaviors, expectations, daily needs and the ways they think will be different. The
problems the international students mostly suffered from social environment are the
culture shock, language barrier, study problem, food culture and mental illnesses, etc.
On the other hand, from the physical environment point of view, the required functions,
daily activities and the usage of places will not be the same. Therefore, in this study,
the adaption process of both of the environments which are experienced by the
international students in Taiwan and additionally, the relation between people behaviors
and both of the social and physical environments will be discussed through the analysis
of the literature reviews.
