Hi everyone, I am Victor Jr. M. Inoferio and I'll walk you through the rules 4-6 in the context of volleyball For rule number 4 it is about the rights and duties of players Basically in this part we will be talking about the things a player should bear in mind and their responsibility as sportsmen inside the court. First, all players must know the rules of the game and abide them. Because volleyball is a sport therefore it has its peculiar directive that were needed to be observed and followed by the players inside the arena or when playing. Additionally there should be enough knowledge regarding the rules of volleyball, internalize and abide to it. Moving forward to number 2, During the game, only the team captain can address concerns to the referees and umpires. in this section, we’ll understand how crucial is the role of the team captain inside the court. they have a very important task and obligation as part and the leader of the team because they serve as the spokesperson of the group. All queries and concerns are relayed by the team captain to the referee/umpires/linesmen. This is very important because they might break this etiquette by approaching the volleyball authorities without passing it to the team captain. So to ensure this won’t happen, everyone should know that the team captain has this power inside the court. third is the conducts of players, substitutes and coaches. Under this one are punishable acts. For one is being incessant with regards to the decisions. Then speaking uncivil remarks to the officials. It is common inside the court where a player speaks in an ill- bred manner and of course it needs disciplinary action. Following the uncivil remarks is the uncivil action to the extent that you want to influence the decisions made by the officials. It is impolite to do such because the purpose of the officials is to regulate and not to just side with your decision especially when majority already knew it was worth the demerits and among other things. Furthermore, under the punishable acts are making uncivil remarks against the opponents, deliberate coaching during the game proper, leaving the court without permission, and making disturbances in the actual contact with the ball since it may distract the referee and the concentration of the players. - Lastly for rule number 4, The penalties There are 2 major classifications of offense concerning penalties. One is the minor offense and the other one is the serious offense. The conduct of this misdemeanour is tantamount to a warning and in the worst case, disqualification. Moreover for the minor offense, talking to opponents, shouting, or delay of the game will reap warning and a repetition of the offense will cause the team to lose a point. Now, for the serious offense a penalty will be recorded in the score sheet therefore a team will lose the service or the point will be given to the offended team. If the player is adamant in his/her offense, the referee may disqualify him/her throughout the remaining sets. Note that the referee can disqualify a player without any prior warning. So are you familiar with the red and yellow card? What does a red card mean in volleyball? A red card in volleyball means losing a service and one point for the opposing team. A yellow and red card at the same time mean the expulsion of the player until the end of the set. Red and yellow cards shown separately mean disqualifying the player. Okay, that’s all about rule number 4 Now let’s move to rule number 5 which talks about the team. For this one, we have a hefty 4 components, the Player’s Kits, composition of the teams and substitution, position of the players and the errors in positioning the player. So first, the Player’s kit: The players kit is composed of the clothing, specifically the jersey, shorts and light and pliable shoes. These clothing has designated measurements and don’ts. In Player’s Jersey, it shall contain a numbers of 8-15 cm mark and 15 cm length at the back. for the team captain, we noticed that their jersey number has underline but in international matches, they are required to wear a badge with assigned measurements and different in color. The shoes must be appropriate like it doesn’t have heels Bear in mind that players are not allowed to wear heavy jewelries and head gear because it might cause accident throughout the match. Also, the team must look tidy and uniform in their kits. Colors the same and presentable. Second is the composition of teams and substitutions. Here, we’ll know that in any given circumstance, during the game, there shall only be 6 players inside the court per team. Each team including the substitutes, may not exceed 12 players. In preparation, before the match each name of the players must be listed in the score sheet. The substitutes and the coaching force must be on the side of the court. For the substitution of the players, it is made when the ball is dead upon the request of the coach referee or the umpires. Per set there are six substitutions. There should be no exhaustion in using substitution because it is penalized. Additionally, any player beginning the set may in the set be replaced by only once by a substitute. third, position of the players. There are 2 lines of 3 players within each court. one is the front line players situated at the net or at the front row. These are positions 2,3, and 4 Next is the backline players they are situated at the back row of the court and positions are 1,6, and 5. Rotation is a strict matter in volleyball hence it should match up to the order recorded in the score sheet. In the frontline, 3 must be in between 2 and 4 while in the back row, 6 is between 1 and 5 and consequently behind 6 is behind 3. The last component of rule 5 is error in the positioning of a player When a team is found to be out of position, the play is stopped and the error is corrected. All points made by the team whilst in the wrong position must be cancelled. Points scored by the opponents will be retained. Into the bargain, the team in error shall resume its position and shall be penalized by loss of service or by the award of a point to their opponents. Now, let’s all learn Team Coaches, managers and captains in rule number 6. first, team coaches, managers and captains are responsible for team discipline. Meaning to say they are the ones who regulate the players attitude inside the court. the coach or captain has the right to request a timeout or substitution. During a time-out he has the right to speak to players, but is prohibited to enter the court. coaches and managers shall not during play contest the decision of the referee and finally the captain is the only player inside the court who may speak to the officials. Which we have discussed earlier. So those were about rule number 4-6. Now let us brace for the rule 7 to 9 that will be discussed by mr. pon thank you so much.
