1 TypeFocus: Exploring My Options Today I took the TypeFocus Assessment to know about my personality type and career path. My main take away message from the TypeFocus Experience was to know how I can still explore my options even though I thought that I know myself well. Although it is my first time using TypeFocus, I used a similar tool two years ago. My personality type was ENTP. After taking the TypeFocus assessment, my result came out as ENTJ. I became more focused on my work. Thus, I think my personality type has changed. I obviously had some idea about my personality type and how it relates to different situations before taking the assessment. However, I now am fully aware of my potentials. The one assessment result that surprised me is my interests result. According to the assessment, I’m fifty-nine percent realistic. I considered myself more realistic as I am someone who can look around and deal with things in a practical manner. But after taking the assessment, I realized that I love to think about problems and come up with an imaginative solution more. The other results confirmed everything I knew about myself. I knew that I am outgoing, complex-thinker, intuitive, and problem-solver. And all that matches with my TypeFocus Assessment. TypeFocus Assessment suggested me some jobs that match my personality: consulting, human resources, administration and management, university teaching, marketing, and research positions. The one job listed here that surprised me is working in human resources. I have never really thought about pursuing a human resources career. Human resources officers are in charge of enrolling, screening, meeting, and interviewing employees. They may likewise deal with payroll, welfare, and training. HR administrators also plan and facilitate the regulatory functions of a company. 2 ENTJ stands for extraversion, intuition, thinking, and judging. According to Typefocus website, ENTJs are “business-like in addressing problems, tough-minded leaders, analytical problem-solvers, challenging”. These qualities are vital for assigning roles and spotting individual capacities. Moreover, my top interest results are artistic, investigative, and enterprising. That basically means people like me are creative, curious, and leader-like. As a human resources officer, one is required to have these skills in order to work with a group of people. Since people like me have the skills necessary to be an HR officer, the program matches us to this career path. If I could ask TypeFocus any follow-up questions, I would want to know how I can enhance my prospects and opportunities. I would also ask how I can get the proper education I need in order to succeed. These questions are very important if I want to be professionally successful. I might have some innate qualities, but innate skills aren't enough. I would like to sharpen my skills so that I can reach my fullest potentials. According to TypeFocus Assessment, I value achievement, Independence, and recognition at work-place. I am an ENTJ personality type, and my interests results are artistic, investigative, and enterprising. Individuals like me are certain, appealing communicators, and we have one vision: to take care of business to the most astounding standard of value. We are pioneers, and our capacity to recognize the qualities of every individual from their groups, consolidating those capacities into plans with certain goals. We are regularly exceptionally persuaded by achievement in our vocations and appreciate diligent work. We are eager and intrigued by picking up power and impact. To us, leadership is a job. We need to be in a situation to decide. To be an asset to an organization or employer, the first thing we need to do is to choose the right career path that fits us well. By enhancing competence, critical 3 thinking, leadership, and hard work, we will thrive in our workplaces. If we use our enhanced skills properly, it’s not hard for us to be an asset to an organization one day.
