When the weather moves in in
the small town of
Chewandswallow, the people do
not run for raincoats or parkas.
They grab a fork, spoon, and a
napkin. That’s because it
doesn’t rain raindrops; it rains
pizza, hamburgers, and
meatballs.

3-1.10) Dribble and travel continuously in general space at varying speeds, demonstrating control of ball and body.
My Cloud Book
Activity #1
Students will watch a video to learn more about the different types of clouds.
Students will…
• learn what clouds are made of.
• learn about the highest clouds in the sky.
• lowest clouds in the sky.
• clouds that are puffy and look like cotton balls.
• clouds that are often called "mare's tails."
• to learn about clouds that are in layers
Students will then complete the book in a large group setting.
Making a Cloud
Activity #2
1.Put the bar of Ivory soap on the paper plate inside of the microwave.
2. Microwave for one minute.
3. Watch the soap as it begins to expand. (You can open up the door of the
microwave to show your students how the bar of soap is changing)
4. Allow the soap to cool for a minute or so before touching it.
5. Place the puffy soap into a sensory bin and let your students touch and explore it.

Supplies:
Directions:
Take-out containers with lids.
Cream colored yarn cut into 6-8 in pieces.
Plastic forks.
Red pom-pom balls (various sizes)
Paper plates.
Meatball Graph page.
• Based on class size, set up one station for every two students.
• Place cream colored yarn in take-out plates, mixing in a variety of meatballs ( red pom-poms). Place cover on
top.
• Students will use plastic fork to find and remove meatballs to paper plate.
• Students will then organize meatballs according to size sand chart the information.

“Meatball Basketball”
Standards:
3-2.1) Demonstrate the concept of spatial awareness in a dynamic environment.
3-1.10) Dribble and travel continuously in general space at varying speeds, demonstrating control of ball and body.
Supplies:
Basketball or red ball
2 12-20 ft long ropes
Basket (large enough for ball)
Directions:
• Create a pathway to the basket using the ropes.
• Students will then dribble the ball between the two ropes.
• When they reach the end of the ropes, they throw the ball into the basket.
