acceptable references will help in keeping your work professional. Note: Wiki
type references are never acceptable.

 Format: Weekly Written Assignments – All assignments are due by Sunday at

Course Policies
Late Work Policy:
Assignments must be submitted no later than Sunday at 12:00am of the week
indicated in the syllabus. Late work will not be accepted and graded as a zero.
If you are having difficulties, please communicate with me before the assignment is
due. Students may avoid a zero for assignments by communicating with the professor
sooner than later. Unless a prior arrangement is made, any late work will be graded
zero.
Online Discussion Policy:
In order to create an effective learning experience for everyone, it is expected that
everyone will treat everyone in the class with respect. This includes allowing everyone
to express their opinion/thoughts fully and without fear of criticism.
Teaching Strategies:
The class will be conducted with discussions and outside readings. Weekly discussion
topics will challenge student thinking. This is not a lecture course. Students must read
the instructional materials.
Grading & Rubrics:
Rubrics for each assignment can be found in the weekly drop box for each assignment.
Your written assignments will be graded on punctuation, grammar, presentation and
original content, per assignment instructions and rubrics that are included with the
assignment.

Paper Submissions:
All papers submitted for this class will adhere to the APA manuscript style. They will
consist of a title page, the body of the paper, and a references page. A title page is
required for weekly written assignments.
A title page contains three items: a running head (a short version of the title), the
paper's title, and the author's name. The running title appears in the top left corner of
every page, including the title page, across from the page number which is placed on
the right. The title, the author's name, and the author's affiliation (or course and
section number) appear in the center of the title page.
The body of the paper shall be double-spaced with the running head appearing in the
top left corner of each page, across from the page number. The full title also appears,
but only on the first page of the work. For subsequent pages, the running head is the
only "title" present. New paragraphs should be indented and there should not be an
extra blank line between paragraphs.
The references page also has the running head and page number. Sources should be
alphabetized by the author's last name (or, for sources without authors, by the first
letter in the title) and the second line of each source should be indented a half inch
(the first line is not indented). This is called a hanging indent. Important Note:
References such as Wikipedia or an “Pedia” type Website are not allowed and use of
them in your work can result in a significantly reduced grade for the work).
All pages of the paper will utilize:






1" margins on all sides.
Utilize a times new roman 12-point font size.
Use standard double-spacing.
Left-align text. Do not right-justify.
There should be no subtitles or spaces between paragraphs within the paper.
When citing a quote of more than four lines, you should indent the entire
quoted passage 10 spaces from the left margin.
