Dictionary meaning:
(1) Administration refers to the group of individuals
who are in charge of creating and enforcing rules and
regulations, or those in leadership positions who
complete important tasks.
(2) The act or process of administering, especially the
management of a government or large institution.

ADMINISTRATION in EDUCATION
Educational Administration is regarded as the process
of integrating the appropriate human and material
resources that are made available and made effective
for achieving the purposes of a programme of an
educational institution.

ADMINISTRATION in EDUCATION
The term “Administration” doesn’t refer to any single
process or act. It encompasses a number of processes
such as: planning, organizing, directing, coordinating,
controlling and evaluating the performance.
The same situation occurs in the field of educational
administration.
The
concept
of
educational
administration is applicable in case of an educational
organization which has certain purposes or goals to
fulfill.

Definition:
(1) An educational institution is a place where people of
different ages gain an education, including preschools,
childcare, primary-elementary schools, secondary-high
schools, and universities. They provide a large variety
of learning environments and learning spaces.

Definition:
(2) Educational institution means a building in which an
organized course of study or training is offered to
students enrolled in kindergarten through grade 12 and
served by local school districts, accredited or approved
nonpublic schools, area educational agencies,
community colleges, institutions of higher education
under the control of the state board of regents, and
accredited independent colleges and universities.

Definition:
(3) Educational Institution is an institution that provides education
as its main purpose, such as a school, college, university or training
centre. Such institutions are normally accredited or sanctioned by
the relevant national education authorities or equivalent authorities.
Educational institutions may also be operated by private
organizations, such as religious bodies, special interest groups or
private educational and training enterprises, both for profit and
non-profit.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
The Department of Education (DepEd)
formulates, implements, and coordinates
policies, plans, programs and projects in the
areas of formal and non-formal basic
education. It supervises all elementary and
secondary education institutions, including
alternative learning systems, both public and
private; and provides for the establishment and
maintenance of a complete, adequate, and
integrated system of basic education relevant
to the goals of national development.

TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
The
Technical
Education
and
Skills
Development Authority (TESDA) is the
government agency tasked to manage and
supervise technical education and skills
development (TESD) in the Philippines.
TESDA formulates manpower and skills plans,
sets appropriate skills standards and tests,
coordinates and monitors manpower policies
and programs, and provides policy directions
and guidelines for resource allocation for the
TVET institutions in both the private and public
sectors.

COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED)
is the Philippine government’s agency in
charged with promoting relevant and quality
higher education, ensuring access to quality
higher education, and guaranteeing and
protecting academic freedom for continuing
intellectual growth, advancement of learning
and research, development of responsible and
effective leadership, education of high level
professionals, and enrichment of historical and
cultural heritages.
