FIBRO EPITHELIAL POLYPOF ORAL CAVITY IN
MASSON TRI CHROME STAIN
Fibroepithelial polyp is characterized by a pink, red or white knob-like growth. This is
caused by minor trauma or irritation, usually following accidental biting. They are
small and generally painless. They are usually single, but occasionally
multiple.Masson’s trichrome stain is the three color staining used in histology.Masson’s
trichrome stains were performed on the tissue sections of the reactive lesions of oral
cavity .All the reactive lesions show different growth and differentiation.masson’s
trichrome stains is used in fibro epithelial polyp to find out the fibrous nature of the
lesions. In this study we are going to use masson’s trichrome stain to find the the
importance of the histopathological diagnosis of fibroepithelial polyp lesion having rare,
unusual and abiding features but which is one of the most common lesions of the oral
cavity.
