INDIVIDUALITY- We all know that each of of use has different body sizes, which gives an emphasis that exercises should vary as well depending on body types. It is important to consider individuality to make sure that a certain exercise will be helpful not harmful. TRAINABILITY- Because of individuality or our differences, it is already expected that we are not able to see the same result on every person. What works on you may not work on other people, so it is important to find a set of exercises that works for your needs. SPECIFICITY- It is important to know what does a certain individual wanted to achieve on doing exercises. The exercises should be specific on a persons preferences, or what part of their body do they want to improve. OVERLOAD- Of course, it is important to take it slow and you will be able to notice that slowly, you can do more things. Due to consistent training an individual will be able to strengthen its stamina which allow him/her to do more things PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD- It is also the same with overload, as time goes by, a certain individuals ability to exercise increases as well which allow them to increase the dose of exercises that they are doing. VARIETY- Just like eating foods, exercises should also have variety. It is important so that we can avoid injuries due to overuse of a specific muscle. We should also consider changing exercise routines sometimes for our own good. By doing this, we can also improve some parts of our body as well. REST- We all know that rest is necessary in order for us to gain energy. We should be mindful that resting should also be moderate on training sessions, it should not be too long or too short. REVERSIBILITY- It simply means that if you suddenly stopped exercising, you might lose what you’ve worked for. All the benefits that you’ve gain from exercising might cease if you’ll stop. MAINTENANCE- It is important to stay consistent and continue your training. And if you are able to make it as a habit, then you can reduce the intensity of your exercises. But you should not stop and just continue your daily training. FITT- Your goals should has a specific frequency, intensity, duration and type of exercise to be used. This can help an individual to achieve their desired outcomes on their body and the FITT component should suit what they wanted to improve. I think what best exemplifies on me as learner is the principle of maintenance. I will just relate it base on my experiences. Back then when I was in JHS and SHS, I actively join the bambanti and cheer dance competitions in our school. Those activities trained me on strengthening my stamina. But when I entered college life, I wasn’t able to do what I used to do which makes my stamina weaker. That’s why consistency and maintenance is important to stay physically fit.
