FlintBoard Polyisocyanurate Roof Insulation Products
In conjunction with General Recommendations Section 15.4.1 of the CertainTeed
Roof Systems Manual, CertainTeed recommends the designer consult with local code
agencies as well as applicable insurance rating bureaus, such as FM Global, prior to
wind uplift calculations to determine fastener placement and densities in the field and at
perimeters and corners. The diagrams in this guide are suggested as default patterns.
For fastening densities not featured in this guide the designer should consider:
• Edge fasteners are a minimum of 6" from insulation board edges
• Fasteners are evenly distributed over the board area
• All fasteners engage the top flange of steel decking
