Based on enrollment, courses will be cancelled or redirected on October 9th. Students may register for a maximum of three courses (a combination of Night and Saturday school courses). Proof of registration and photo ID may be requested on the first session of classes. Registration closes for Night School on October 16th. Registration closes for Saturday School on November 7th. They are open to all high school students with the appropriate pre-requisites. Adults can also take courses and do not require pre-requisites. Students may take a new credit or re-take a course previously taken to upgrade a mark. Courses this year are only offered online as remote learning courses. These courses are offered through a mixture of synchronous (80%) and asynchronous (20%) instruction. The synchronous component of classes will be use either Brightspace D2L or Google Classroom with Zoom or Google Meets. Synchronous Learning occurs when the teacher interacts with a student or group of students in real-time either online or through other means in relation to the course content, lessons, or assessment tools. Students who are unable to fulfill this condition will be considered to have not completed the course. The TCDSB reserves the right to cancel or relocate a class. A preliminary list of cancelled courses will be available on October 9th. It is the student's responsibility to check our website for a list of all cancelled and relocated classes. Attendance Students are expected to log in for synchronous remote learning activities and lessons during the posted days and times. Regular attendance and punctuality are mandatory. Students who do not log in on the first session of classes may forfeit their place in the course. To report an absence, please notify your teacher. Report Cards Information regarding report card distribution will be announced on a later date. The final opportunity to review and discuss Night/Saturday school results with your teacher is: • Monday/Wednesday schools: Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 • Tuesday/Thursday schools: Thursday, January 27th, 2022 • Saturday schools: Saturday, June 11th, 2022 NON-TCDSB Students: Students MUST bring their report card to their home school or transcript office. Contact your school board or guidance department regarding this procedure. The homeschool or transcript office will add the course to the transcript or upload to OCAS/OUAC. For this reason, progression is indicated by levels rather than grades. International Languages are offered at three levels: B, C, and D during the four years of secondary school (grades 9 - 12)”. The Ontario Curriculum: Classical Studies & International Languages, 2000 The Continuing Education Department offers courses at the Academic and University levels. Visit your guidance department for a blank registration form. Submit a completed registration form to your day school guidance counsellor. 2. After submitting a completed registration form, obtain a Continuing Ed. timetable print-out from your guidance counsellor. This is your confirmation receipt that you have been registered successfully NON-TCDSB Students 1. Open your Internet Browser on a computer. We recommend that you use a computer that is connected to or has access to a printer so that you can print your registration package. Visit: www.tcdsb.org/continuinged 2. Scroll down the screen to the menu to select: Then select: 3. Log in to the site using your email address and password. If you are a new user, click on “Create an account”. If you already have a userid and forgot your password, click on "Forgotten your Password?", enter your email address an click on "Send password to email". An email will be sent to your email account. Use this password to register for a Night or Saturday School course. 4. If you are a new user: Click on Create an Account and fill out your personal information into the application form. Enter your 9-digit OEN (Ontario Education Number). Once you have created an account you will receive an email. Keep this email in your records as it is used each time you register for a Night, Saturday, Summer School or Online course. Don’t forget to check your junk/spam mailbox folder for this email. To ensure that you get our emails, add our domain (tcdsb.org) to your safe senders list. To register for a course: return to www.tcdsb.org/continuinged and use your email address and the password that was emailed to you OR use the password that you created for this account. 6. If any of your personal information is incorrect, press the: If all information is correct, proceed to register by pressing: Under Continuing Education Information, select the night school location that will be offering the course of your choice. For online courses, please select “eClass Online Learning”. 7. Select your New Credit course from the drop down menu. If a course does not appear in the drop down menu, the course is not offered at that particular location. Please chose another location or check the availabilty of the course on our website. If applicable, refer to your transcript/credit counselling summary to enter the prerequisite course and mark for your selection. (For example: Grade 12 English University ENG4U requires Grade 11 English University ENG3U with a passing mark. Enter this information in the appropriate fields.). 8. Optional: Select a second course under Alternate Choice in case your first choice is cancelled at the same school location. 9. After pressing the Submit button, review your information and edit it if necessary. You must press the “Verify and Confirm/Print Registration” button in order to send your registration information to Continuing Education. 10. After printing your form, you will receive an email with the subject line “TCDSB Continuing Education: Registration Package” • Option 1: Modify Your Request Information - By pressing this you can change any of the information that you entered. • Option 2: Verify and Confirm/Print Registration Request - Allows you confirm your to reprint your registration form. • Option 3: Delete Registration Request - Allows you to cancel your registration request. Please ensure that your registration form has a guidance counsellor signature and school stamp and parents signature. Please attach a report card or credit counselling report to each registration form. *Adults are not required to obtain a school stamp or other signatures.
