LESSON PLAN IN NEWTON’S LAW OF MOTION Grade 12 May 19, 2021 I. OBJECTIVES The learners demonstrate an understanding of: Content Standards Performance Standards 1. Newton’s Laws of Motion No performance standards in the Curriculum guide The learners should be able to: Learning Competencies 1. explain each of Newton’s three laws of motion (S11/12PSIVd-50) II. SUBJECT MATTER A. CONTENT ✓ Law of Inertia ✓ Law of Acceleration ✓ Law of Interaction B. CONCEPTS Concepts Law of Inertia Law of Acceleration Description of the Concept An object at rest will remain at rest; and an object in motion will continue moving in a straight path, unless acted upon by a net unbalanced force. The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the force exerted on the object and inversely proportional to its mass. 𝐹= 𝑚 𝑎 where: F = Force a = acceleration m = mass Law of Interaction For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. C. STRATEGIES Strategy Inquiry-based Description The teacher will use the art of questioning all throughout the discussion and in facilitating the teaching and learning process. D. SCIENTIFIC AND PROCESS SKILLS Scientific and Process Skills Description of the Scientific and Process Skills and How Can It Be Developed Through the Activities Science Process Skills Observing The students are to use their senses in analyzing the given material/tasks with their peers. Communicating The students will communicate in order to share their ideas through listening and talking to their peers during the discussion. Critical Thinking Skills Explaining The students will be explaining their works and through explaining they will be able to restate the concept in their own understanding. Analyzing Students will have the ability to understand and differentiate the three laws of motion. Inferring Students will have the ability to infer and draw conclusions based on the concepts of the three laws of motions. E. REFERENCES 1. Datukan,J.,Garcia,G.,Morales,M.,& Ocampo,C. (2017). Good Morning Class. Good Morning Ma’am Shairmaine. Have a Happy Day! Please take your seats. Class secretary, do we have any absents for today? That’s very good to hear. *Students take their seats. * I’m happy to say that there are no absents for today Ma’am. What did we study last time? That’s good because today we will use that to our next today. *Students will recall the last discussion. * Who have read about topic today? *calls a student* give me one concept about our topic for today. *Students will give concepts about the new topic. * Very good, it seems that you already studied our lesson for today. B. Lesson Proper Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity ENGAGE We will have a short activity called Decode Me. Jumbled letters will be posted in the screen. Students will decode the jumbled letters. 1. ONTIOM 2. NOITACLELEAR 3. TEARINIONC EXPLORE and EXPLAIN The teacher will post picture and ask the students what they have observe about it. Then the teacher will explain it one by one. Newton’s First Law Motion A body that is not moving… will not move unless acted upon by an external force. Newton’s Second Law of Motion The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the force exerted on the object and inversely proportional to its mass. Newton’s Third Law of Motion For every action, there is an equal but opposite reaction. ELABORATE The teacher will ask the students to give examples of the three laws of motion that they see in their everyday lives. EVALUATE The teacher will give a 5 items test. The teacher will post picture and the students will identify what laws of motions it describes. For each picture, identify what law of motion it describes. 1. 2. 3.
