Genetic material (DNA) is duplicated
Spindle fibers disappear
Centrioles move to polar ends of cell
Nuclear Envelope disappears
Spindle fibers form from the centrioles
Cytokenesis occurs – the cytoplasm and cell divides
Spindle fibers pull on centromere breaking
the chromosome into two chromatids
Cells grow occurs during this phase
Chromatids move to poles of cell.
Chromosomes attach to the spindle fibers.
Nuclear envelope begins to reform
Chromosomes line up on the midline or equator of the cell.
Chromatin coil forming chromatid
Chromatid unwind to form chromatin material
Additional organelles are produced
Chromatids join at centromere to form a chromosome
