This course is a study of the history, geography, and development of the country Pre-Columbia to Modern Day. It emphasizes subjects such as, the Foundations of Liberty, The Civil War, The Birth of Modern America, Imperialism and Progressivism, The Great Depression, both World Wars, the Civil Right Movement, and Modern Politics. Expectations and Goals Daily Work/Homework: Most homework assignments will be in the form of reading, notetaking, writing, and projects. While notetaking can be handwritten, graded writing assignments must be typed and double-spaced, using Times-New-Roman 12-point font. Every graded writing assignment will require a title that is centered above the first paragraph and your name and date in the upper left-hand corner of the first page. ETHICS/VIOLATIONS OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: Ethical behavior is an essential component of learning and scholarship. Students are expected to understand and adhere to high levels of academic integrity.
