Problem Statement: Design the horizontal and vertical alignment of a Two-Lane National
Highway using MX Road Software. The required data for the design are given below:
1. Design Speed: 100Kmph
2. Length of Project: 12Km
3. Width of Carriageway: 10m (7.0+1.5mPaved Shoulder+1.5Paved Shoulder)
4. Width of Earthen Shoulder: 2m on both side
5. Side Slope: 2.5:1
6. Widening on Curves: 0.6m on both side
7. Minimum Radius: 300m
8. Minimum Superelevation: 2.5% (Pavement is rotated with respect to inner edge)
9. Minimum Sight Distance: 120m
10. Minimum Length of Transition curve: 40m
11. Minimum length of vertical curve: 60m
12. Minimum vertical gradient: 0.5%
13.Pavement Thickness: BC-40mm, DBM-100mm, WMM-250mm, GSB-200mm and SG-500mm.
Note: 1) Consider missing data as per IRC guidelines 2) Topographical data available for the design
is in CSV Points format (X, Y, Z)
Submit Plan, Profile and one cross section either in cutting or filling in AutoCAD format.
