Worcester Polytechnic institute
Academics
● Many different engineering majors that fit my engineering interests
● Mechanical engineering which is the major I plan on is the biggest department and
oldest meaning there will be a lot of a development into it
● Has really cool technology in its labs like lasers and many different machines for
simulations
Northeastern University
Campus
● Campus is very big but feels and looks like a college campus
● Looks modern and up to date
● Close to east coast to it is near the ocean which is cool
Academics
● Has my major of mechanical engineering and it looks like the students do several things
to help the community that involve their major
● Most of the degrees get very extensive to several degrees with a lot going up to PhD
● The amount of engineering degrees is huge and gets very extensive to things I have
never heard
Student Life
● Has tons of different clubs, co-ops organizations etc.
● Right near boston so it gives a ton of opportunities for jobs fun etc.
● Most of their organizations involve helping the community of boston so there will always
be something to do
Lehigh
Campus
● Architecture looks very old but attractive as well as the campus being littered with trees
gives a very scenic feel
● Feels like an actual campus where there is a nice green space
● Pretty close to home meaning it would not be hassle to travel back
Academics
● Has my planned major as well as several other programs to offer
● Curriculum of of mechanical engineering is main mechanics and physics with math and
computing coming to a close second which means it will focus on my interests when
learning
● Student to faculty ratio is very low which is very nice for a small class meaning I can get
close to the teacher
Student Life
● Big part of this college is sports meaning there will almost always be a game to go to
● Has every aspect of student life, club sports, greek life, clubs, community service which
means I will get the most out of my college experience learning how to do things besides
community service
Villanova University
Campus
● Campus has very attractive architecture
● One main road with the campus behind it
● Gives a real campus feel
● Has different recreations that are up to date and funded
Academics
● Has plenty of Engineering majors as well as state of the art technology involving
simulations and experiments
● College helps students with ideas for research and funds them
● Because it's a religious school it is required to take a class of some type of morals
● Average starting salary of graduates is very high for people that take engineering
Student life
● Sports is huge especially basketball so I would get integrated into the life of the college
● Have to participate in some type of community service due to it being a religious school
● Has a fitness center to work out which is something I enjoy
● Dorm is fairly nice and attractive which is a plus
Widener University
Campus
● Nice looking campus that gives that pennsylvania feeling
● 14 miles of Philly
● Nice scenery by the river with lot of trees
Academics
● Has a very broad amount of engineering degrees but does not get specific like other
colleges
● You can pursue several minors that do not involve engineering such as business,
political science etc.
● Not solely and engineering school which is nice to meet a large amount of people
Student Life
● Has a ton of events like several speakers and their own museum laboratory and art
gallery
● Good club sports and tons of organizations like most other colleges-over 80
● Recreational Facilities
Catholic Univ
Campus
●

Medium sized school with architecture that has elements of DC
Old architecture but attractive
Right inside DC which gives a ton of opportunities
●
Campus has nice green space as well as a closed in campus which gives it its own
sense of community
Academics
● Has the general amount of academics involving engineering that does not go too in
depth
● Liberal arts is a huge part of academics which is ok but it seems like that is a huge focus
almost more than your actual major
Student Life
● Huge faith school which is nice because it will teach good morals as wells as meeting
nice people who show positive morals.
● Inside DC so I will always have something to do my time there and almost never be
bored
● Has the typical things of college, clubs, fitness center, and events
RIT

Buildings look semi modern but there is nothing that really is an eye opener in terms of
appeal.
● Campus is really large but secluded with woods and a whole host of facilities
● Close to home making it easy to travel home
Academics
● Very in depth courses that get really deep into engineering and specify certain things
● The mechanical engineering program reaches all aspects of engineering
● Curriculum does not have a load of fluff each program has meaning and teaches
something important
● CO-OP programs
Student Life
● Campus is in NY meaning is it kind of far from surrounding things which may not be
good because it could get boring if there is nothing around
● Since it is in NY gives potential for loads of events involving hiking, kayaking, rock
climbing etc.
● Typical things, clubs, sports etc.
Univ of Rochester
Campus
● Right by river and nice scenic forest area
● Buildings look typical with no real eye openers
