Confucius
Intro
Confucius (551–479 BCE during the qin dynasty) was a Chinese teacher, editor,
politician, and philosopher and one of the greatest thinkers of all time
The philosophy of Confucius emphasized personal and governmental morality,
correctness of social relationships, justice and sincerity.
Early Life

Teachings
Confucius's principles had a basis in common Chinese tradition and belief. He
championed strong family loyalty, ancestor worship, respect of elders by their
children (and in traditional interpretations) of husbands by their wives. He also
recommended family as a basis for ideal government. He espoused the well-known
principle "Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself"
Confucianism discusses elements of the afterlife and views concerning Heaven
Confucius presents himself as a "transmitter who invented nothing". He puts the
greatest emphasis on the importance of study, and it is theChinese character for
study
he wanted his disciples to master and internalize the old classics and laws, so that
their deep thought and thorough study would allow them to relate the moral
problems of the present to past political events
Impact
he died around 71, or 72 years of age 479 BCE
he died thinking he failed because at the time his school and teachings were
supressed by the legalists in the qin dynasty now mad people follow his teachings
he never knew how much wisdom he gave to the world
Following the victory ofHan over Chu after the collapse of Qin, Confucius's thoughts
received official sanction and were further developed into a system known as
Confucianism. people speculate on if it is/ was a religion or just a practice
after his death up until now. a lot of stroies came up and it became to decipher
between legend and the real life of Confucius
