Miangeli Pineiro I am ashamedly no stranger to online purchases and it may be developing into somewhat of a problem. Similar to what was mentioned in the last assignment, this is another example of how the ease of technology has spoilt us and we rely heavily upon it, unhealthily so. I don’t have a consistent subscription to any products but the clothes and other miscellaneous items I’ve purchased are innumerable. The way advertisements rope you in by using convincing rhetoric and customer testimonies is intentional. Streaming services such as Peacock, Netflix and Hulu seem heaven sent during this time to entertain us, so much so that at the beginning of Quarantine it was announced that some of these were having trouble functioning due to so many people watching at one time. I’ve never bought food, a car or any topical/ingested substance online. Those things take consideration of what is to your liking and without being in person to cross examine crucial points of interest, you would be wasting your money. There are certain vegetables that need to be lightly pressed on to test for readiness, when purchasing a vehicle you want to make sure the engine is fully functioning and buying a facial cream or medication online doesn’t allow you to get the full scope of harmful/beneficial ingredients. I know many people were using delivery services to lessen the risk of exposure, but my family and I still bought everything we normally do outside touching And inspecting it, just with some extra precautions.
