Carefully hold the antenna, fix the installation rack to the pole, put the flat washers,
spring washers and nuts in sequence and finally slightly screw the nuts with hands (see
Figure).
4
Adjust the antenna installation position, horizontal angle and vertical angle, and tighten
the nuts (see Figure 4).
5
The azimuth error of the directional antenna should be within ±5°. And the pitching error
of the directional should be within ±0.5°. And the single-polarized antennas in the same
sector should have consistent pitching angle and azimuth angle.
6
Key Points and Precautions
1
2
The antenna should be within the protective range of the lightning rod, which means that
the lightning rod should be higher than the antenna. Protective angle: not more than 45°
in the plain and not more than 30° in high mountains and thunder-dense areas.
To ensure safety, safety measures should be taken before the antennas are installed.

E1 cables fall into 2 categories: 75ohm and 120ohm. Usually the 8-pair 75ohm E1 cable
is used in China. One end of the cable is a DB44 connector while the other one divides
into 2 cables (each cable has 8 cores [Core 1 to 8] and each cable supports 4 pairs of E1
links).

120ohm E1 cables also fall into 2 categories: 4-pair and 8-pair. One end is the DB44
connector while the other end is one 4-pair cable or two 4-pair E1 cables. Each 4-pair
cable has 8 cores (Core 1 to 8) and supports 4 pairs of E1 links. The connector at the
DDF side is connected through a wire clamp.
If the B8200 and R8840 both adopt the indoor installation, decide whether to use the
input/output dry-contact-node cable and RS232 cable according to the actual conditions.

If the optical interface of the FS module is not fitted with an optical module, install an
optical module. Note that the blue handle should face upwards. Insert the optical module
tightly.
Make temporary labels at both ends of the outdoor fiber according to the optical module
directions and sectors, and connect the outdoor fiber to the TX and RX interface of the
FS module. Please note that you should insert the fiber in the direction of the optical
module. After connecting the fiber correctly, you can hear a “KA” sound (see Figure 1).
Reserve an enough bending radius when the outdoor fiber is laid to the cable trough
(see Figure 2).
For the simple installation bracket, all the cables and fibers are laid along the PVC
trough on the wall, led downward from the right side of the simple installation bracket
and through the cable trough at the bracket bottom. After other cables are connected,
bundle the outdoor fiber together with them (see Figure 3).
For the 19-inch standing installation rack and RRU standing installation rack, all the
cables and fibers are laid from the interior side of the right-upright column and led to the
cable trough at the B8200 bottom. After other cables are connected, bundle the outdoor
fiber together with them (see Figure 4).
When the outdoor fiber is laid indoors, the outdoor fiber should be long enough for
cabling in the cable trough. Do not place heavy objects or other heavy cables on the
outdoor fiber. The redundant outdoor fiber should be coiled and placed neatly under
R8840 or nearby.

Installation Steps
1
On the indoor cable tray, the DC power cable should be separated from the AC power cable (they
should stay at least 50mm away from each other), the DC power cable should be separated from
the unshielded signal cable (they should stay at least 50mm away from each other if they are laid
in parallel), and the AC power cable should be separated from the unshielded signal cable (they
should stay at least 150mm away from each other if they are laid in parallel).
2
Cables must be bound closely, and appear to be straight and orderly.
3
Cable ties should be distributed at regular intervals to ensure the tightness of cables. The interval
between cable ties should be consistent with the interval between cable trays (usually, 300 to 700
mm).
The redundant cable ties should be cut off. The indoor cable ties must be cut to the same length
from the bottom. Black cable ties cannot be confused with white cable ties. The indoor cable ties

1
Before the waterproof treatment, firstly clean off the dusts and dirt from the connector.
2
Firstly wrap the PVC insulating tape from the bottom upward. The upper layer covers 1/2
of the lower layer. PVC insulating tape should cover the entire feeder connector so that
the waterproof insulating tape will not adhere to the connector (see Figure 1).
3
Then wrap the waterproof insulating tape. Unfold the waterproof insulating tape, remove
the release paper and paste the tape end to the point 20~50mm under the connector
(with the gelatinous layer inward) (see Figure 2).
4
Stretch the waterproof insulating tape evenly to make its width shrink to 75%~50% of the
original width and keep certain elasticity. Wrap the connector from the bottom upward.
The upper layer covers 1/2 of the lower layer (see Figure 3).
5
When the waterproof insulating tape reaches 20~50mm above the connector, wrap from
the top downward to 20~50mm beneath the connector in the same way, and finally wrap
from the bottom upward again. Therefore, 3 layers of waterproof insulating tape are
required (see Figure 4-5). (to be continued in next page)
