Case Title: Red Bridge Group: What does ethical leadership look like?
I. The Problem
(For this section you must identify the big problem / issue the company is facing…essentially it is the reason you are doing the case)
How can RBG maximize efficiencies within their organization so as to provide a fair work environment while meeting the goals of the
organization?
II. The Alternatives
(For this section you must identify the different alternatives the company should consider when making their final decision)
Alternative 1: Offer overtime to their employees (those who want to work hard should be compensated for their efforts)
Alternative 2: Take on the easy cases just to hit the target of 1,500
Alternative 3: Develop a schedule that allows for all difficulty levels to be addressed while meeting the target of 1,500 but
also seeking out additional methods of funding
III. The Decision
(For this section you must determine what decisions must be considered when selecting the best alternative. The answer to these questions should always be “yes/no”

IV. The Recommendation
(For this section you must articulate what your decision is, this is usually supported by the most favorable alternative from the decision criteria and one that best solves to
problem statement)
- play with the numbers to find the optimal schedule so that targets are met (if you can’t get this funding, you cannot help anyone)
- ensure that the workload is evenly distributed (all employees should be required to handle similar workloads)
- Maintain a 40 hour work week (it is cheaper to hire someone new and pay them a regular wage than pay someone overtime)
- Seek out additional funding opportunities (as the current CBCF funding is going to expire in four more years) this would take a year or so
- continue to offer your services for free (remember what are the goals of the organization)
