BS IE311 8/29 Reaction Paper in Ergonomics REACTION PAPER We might not notice but Ergonomics plays a major role in our lives and shows how people, machine, products and environment interact with each other. Ergonomics provide comfort and convenience while promoting productivity, efficiency and safety to every individual and its environment or workplace. Looking back, we may wonder how tools and equipment are designed weirdly. These products are designed to meet the requirements of the human body to improves health, experience and productivity. Ergonomics solve the most common work-related disability which is backpain, muscle aches and eyestrain and saves thousands to billions worth of money that comes straight out of company profits. Ergonomically designed workplace creates an active environment that is convenient to the people and equipment. After watching the video, it made me realize so many things and make me notice every little thing on my environment and how they provide convenience to me and anyone on my family. As example, my cousin always plays online games for about 8hours a day to his computer and often complains back pain because of using not ergonomically chair. With these my auntie come up with a solution of buying him an ergonomically design gaming chair, since then my cousin stops complaining about backpain anymore. This made me realize the importance of ergonomics and the effect of non-ergonomically designed products or environment. Its not just affect our health but also cost money for health check-ups if we don’t pay attention.
