Visual Reflection: Happiness and joy Many people find it difficult to be happy and struggle to create their definition of happiness, don’t you wonder why? People seem to not consider everyday life. Nor Everyday moments. However, I found this picture an excellent example of defining happiness in my personal opinion. This picture helps me define happiness is because it reminds me of a very happy moment in my life. It does that because it’s taken at the beach because I can see water, during the sunset due to the look of the sun going down, and the people in the picture seem happy and cheerful. They are dancing and jumping happily. The memory of mine is about the last time I and my family went to the beach in Turkey right before we come to Canada. That day is one of my favorite days, that’s why I instantly remembered it after I saw the picture. The composition of the picture allows me to focus on how the people in it seem to be close to each other and jumping happily. The photographer was able to include the context they desired in the picture to show us that these people in the picture are close to each other. Might be friends or family members. That’s why I related it to my last visit to the beach in Turkey with my family and how happy we were. The sunset in the picture gives me a feeling of warmth, the photographer was able to use the sunlight as a perfect backlight and the clear sky with beautiful clouds on the left side of the picture proved to me a feeling of peace. It’s because I spent a similar time with my only family. On that day of my life, we stayed on the beach till the sunset just like the people in the picture, and enjoyed the view. The picture gives me a powerful feeling to keep going and that’s because of the poses of the people in it. They are confident, happy, fearless, and full of joy. My definition of happiness at the moment and considering them carefully. Our every moment is significant to present happiness or its opposite to us. Pictures like this might seem very simple and referred to as “a picture at the beach” but for me, it is a resemblance of a very happy moment in my life.
