The INTERSHIP REPORT must be written in English and comprising of following sections, arranged in the given order. a. Title Page as per the specimen (described below) b. Certificate by the Research Supervisor, c. Contents d. Summary e. Acknowledgements f. Objective of the Report / Study g. Industry Overview (Industry Information/PEST Analysis) h. Company Overview (Back Ground/History/Vision and Mission Statements, Organogram, Departmental Studies) i. Materials and Methods (if applicable) j. Results / SWOT Analysis / Financial Analysis k. Discussion / Suggestions l. References (if applicable) m. Appendices (if any) 2. ALL PAGES MUST BE NUMBERED Pages of Summary and Acknowledgements should bear Roman numbers (I, ii, iii, iv, v, vi etc), whereas pages from introduction onward should be given Arabic numbers (1, 2,3,4,5 etc,).in the center of the page. 3. TITLE Title page should give title of thesis, name of author, roll number allotted to the candidate, statement of submission of thesis as a partial requirement for the degree of Bachelor Studies/ Master of Sciences/ Master of Philosophy/ Master Studies/ Doctorate in Philosophy, Monogram of the Institution, Name and address of the institution and date (Month and Year) of submission of thesis (as shown on the next page) 4. Supervisor’s Certificate Research Supervisor must certify by putting this signature that INTERSHIP REPORT is being submitted for evaluation with his consent. Please see the specimen certificate at the end of this booklet. 5. Summary This section must include the object of students, methodology adopted, major features of results (must be quantified, wherever necessary) and conclusions. Introduction This section must give the details about the company, its current market positioning, history and all other relevant information which should be necessary to know before going for a detail review. 7. Review of Departments This section must include detail working of all the departments which the student has visited. 8. Materials and Methods If the students has done some kind of research work during the internship then he/she must highlight the methods as well, otherwise pass this section. 9. Results / SWOT Analysis / Financial Analysis / Other Analysis like PEST (if applicable) i. Describe results succinctly. Avoid Verbosity. ii. The results which are given in the form of Tables and figures may be described in words as and when needed ,otherwise avoid verbosity and try to be concise and to the point as much as possible iii. Give data either in Figure or Table form. Do not give the same data in two forms. iv. Tables and Figures should form part of Results Section and should never be collected together at the end of the section. v. Do not give “raw data” Analyze the data statistically and include only the essential details. 10. Suggestions This section should include discussion of the data generated by you and not work done by other workers. The data of other laboratories may be given only to support your data. In case you have different results from the previously recorded literature, one can give possible reasons for that. The discussion must end with clearly defined conclusion and future prospects of the subject of investigation. 11. References I. Mention references in the text as Ali (1993) or (Ali, 1993) for single author article. Ali and Khan (1993) or (Ali and khan, 1993) for a two author’s, and (1993) or (Ali et al. 1993) for a three or more than three author’s article. II. All references mentioned in the text must be listed alphabetically under this section and every reference listed here must be presented somewhere. III. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS I. Abbreviations. Acceptable abbreviations may be used in foot notes, tables, and references. To save space and time, it is sometimes convenient to use abbreviations for lengthy scientific words or phrases used frequently, throughout the text. Such abbreviations must be presented in parentheses immediately after the words or phrase for which they stand. An example is “Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS) was used in all dialysis operations.” In succeeding sentences throughout the thesis, the initials PBS are used in place of the words phosphate buffered saline. ii. Tense. The past tense is preferred for internship writing. iii. Typing Directions Good quality white bond paper of the size A 4 size must be used. One inch broad margin must be on each side except the left side margin which should be 1.25 inch. While typing no extra margin should be left within the marked margin. 11. PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF INTERSHIP REPORT One copy of thesis along with the “Observation Form” should be submitted in the Directorate of Advanced Studies (called as Semifinal Copy) to check the format and other requirements of the thesis provided by this Directorate. Three copies of INTERSHIP REPORT including the original marked as for External Examiner, for Internal Examiner and for Convener shall be submitted in the clerical Office of the respective Head/ In charge of the Department on the proscribed date. The department will send the theses along with the list of the names of the internal, external examiners recommended by the Board of Studies/ Board of Faculty/ Advanced Studies Board (as the case may be). After receipt of the copies of thesis and other relevant material mentioned above, the Controller of Examinations shall arrange for its evaluation and send a copy to the Department for Departmental Library. Thesis shall be treated as reserved document in the Library to readers for reference in the Library. CERTIFICATE BY THE SUPERVISOR I certify that the contents and form of internship report submitted by Mr./Mrs………………………………, Roll No………….. has been found satisfactory and according to the prescribed format.
