Cultural Artifact Speech Questions for Self and Peer Review
Self:

Why do you think you felt either the same or different?
Response: I had mixed feelings, both of calmness and nervousness. But in between, I felt
totally calm and comfortable when was able to connect with the audience positive
feedback. This kept me going and I remained calm throughout the presentation.
2. Where do you think you could have improved and why?
Response: I will like to improve on time-management. Although, I delivered the
presentation within the time frame, next time I will like to share even time for all the
outlines.
3. During what part of the speech do you think you excelled at and why?
Response: Discussing my experience as a baker was a highlight for me. I was able to
share my experience with clarity and engage the audience.
4. What do you think you would do different in your next speech, and how will you do it?
Response: I think the presentation from introduction-conclusion was good, but I will
make a better introduction by working on the attention-getter. I believe this will enhance
audience participation and feedback.
Peer:
1. Did the speaker seem nervous or calm? What makes you think that? Was there
something you saw or heard that leads your thought?
Response: The speaker seemed totally calm throughout the speech. He was confident
when he introduced himself and the topic. His first line “Are you all ready” cracked me
up.
2. Where do you think they could have improved? How?
Response: Overall, the presentation was good and speaker really engaged the audience.
But speaker needs to improve on eye contact.
3. During what part of the speech do you think they did the best?
Response: The speaker’s credibility was the most interesting part for me. He
demonstrated so much confidence and knowledge about Banda music culture. Naming
instruments, playing the instruments and video presentation were all perfect.
4. What words of encouragement would you give to the speaker?
Response: I will say the sky is the starting point, speaker should keep up the good work
as he seemed excellent at playing Banda. The Banda presentation in class was nice and
intriguing. Kudos!
